If your Roblox character keeps moving after you let go of the controls, first isolate the input source: check for a stuck key or controller stick, disconnect optional controllers, and test one control method at a time. Roblox supports keyboard and mouse, gamepads, touch controls, and VR, so unwanted movement does not by itself identify a single cause. Roblox documents its supported input types.
Check the controls that can move your character
Release every control and watch whether movement continues. Then test the available input methods separately. Roblox’s default controls include keyboard movement keys and a gamepad’s primary thumbstick. Roblox lists the default computer and gamepad bindings.
- Keyboard: Check whether a movement key is physically stuck or repeatedly registering. Roblox’s listed default movement keys are W or the up arrow to move forward, S or the down arrow to move backward, and A to move left.
- Gamepad: Disconnect the controller and see whether the character stops. If it does, reconnect it and test again. If movement follows the controller, try another available controller or input method before assuming the Roblox client is at fault.
- Touchscreen: On mobile, disconnect any Bluetooth gamepad temporarily and test movement with the on-screen virtual thumbstick. Touch controls can be used while a Bluetooth gamepad is connected. Roblox explains mobile controls.
This comparison is a way to narrow down the input path; Roblox does not publish a confirmed fix for this exact symptom.
Find out whether it happens in one experience or several
Try another Roblox experience and note whether the movement continues. If it happens in only one experience, contact that experience’s creator or support channel and describe what you did to reproduce it. If it happens in several, keep track of which input methods and devices you tested; that pattern is useful when contacting Roblox Support.

Restart the app and device
After checking input devices, restart the experience and your device. Roblox’s general iOS troubleshooting guidance also recommends force-closing and reopening the app, rebooting the device, reinstalling Roblox, clearing Roblox cookies, and checking that the device’s date and time are correct. Check for a broader Roblox problem and contact support
If the issue persists, check Roblox Status for a possible platform or gameplay problem. You can also contact Roblox Support. Include your device model and operating system, Roblox username, any error messages, what changed recently, and clear steps that reproduce the movement. If the issue is isolated to one experience, include its name and contact its creator as well.

What to tell support
- Whether the character moves in one experience or multiple experiences.
- Which control methods you tested: keyboard, gamepad, touch, or another supported method.
- Whether disconnecting and reconnecting a controller or other input device changes the behavior.
- Your device model and operating system, relevant error messages, and repeatable steps.
