If a quest in Minecraft Dungeons 2 will not advance, first install the newest game update, then restart the entire session and re-enter the mission. Mojang’s October 22, 2026 hotfix 1.1.3.0 specifically fixes the Prime Enchanter arena softlock and incorrect markers in Wrath of the Sculkers and Training with the Enchantsmith. If the objective still fails, check the area for a missed key or interactable before using the in-game Reset current quest command. Resetting can restart mission progress, so use it deliberately. What should I do first when a quest is stuck?

- Install the update before replaying the mission. The hotfix includes named quest fixes, so testing an affected quest on an older build can reproduce a problem that is already addressed.
- Return to the objective area. Search around the marker for a dropped key, a switch, a door, or another interactable. Confirm that the marker now points to the same objective after updating.
- Restart the complete session. Quit to the main menu, close the game, relaunch it, and enter the mission again. This clears temporary session state, but it is not a guaranteed repair for damaged save data.
- Use Reset current quest only if necessary. Select the in-game reset action from the quest or mission menu, then replay the objective from its new starting point.
- Report a repeatable failure. Record the platform, game version, quest, exact sequence of actions, and screenshots or a video clip before changing the state again.
Do not repeatedly reset a mission without checking the version and recording what happened. Repeated attempts can make it harder to describe the original trigger, while a reset can move the quest back to an earlier point.
Why do quest markers point to the wrong place?
Incorrect markers can be a game bug rather than a missed objective. Mojang’s 1.1.3.0 hotfix names wrong markers in Wrath of the Sculkers and Training with the Enchantsmith. Update first, then restart the session so the corrected quest state is loaded.

Check the marker after updating
Open the quest or mission view and note the objective text, not just the arrow. Travel back to the marked location and inspect nearby surfaces, rooms, and interactables. A marker can appear to be wrong when the required key or object was dropped slightly away from the expected route, hidden behind terrain, or left in the previous room.
Reload the mission state
After installing 1.1.3.0, quit to the main menu, close the game completely, and relaunch it. Re-enter the same mission rather than loading directly into an already-running session. This restart addresses transient session state; it does not establish that the underlying save is healthy if the marker remains wrong every time.

When the marker is still wrong
Capture the quest name, the marker, and the objective text in the same screenshot if possible. Note whether the marker changed after the update and full restart. If the same incorrect location appears on each attempt, treat it as a reproducible bug and include those details in a Mojang report instead of cycling through resets without documentation.
How do I fix the Prime Enchanter arena softlock?
Install version 1.1.3.0 or newer. The confirmed Prime Enchanter issue left the arena’s center platform lowered, so progression could not continue after a player left and rejoined a session. Mojang’s bug ticket MCD2-67 records the blocker as fixed in 1.1.3.0.
Symptoms of this specific softlock
- The center platform in the Prime Enchanter arena remains lowered.
- The encounter cannot progress because the expected platform state never returns.
- The problem appears after leaving and rejoining a session.
Recovery steps
- Exit the mission and verify that the game has updated to 1.1.3.0 or a later build.
- Close and relaunch the game so the updated mission code is loaded.
- Re-enter the Prime Enchanter mission and replay the arena sequence.
- If the platform is still lowered on the current build, take a clip showing the arena, the version number, and the point where progression stops.
Do not describe this as a general platform failure if the arena works on the updated build. Include the exact version in any report, because the fix is version-specific and the original ticket identifies the affected progression state.
What if the quest menu will not close?
A quest-menu lock is a separate known issue from the Prime Enchanter platform problem. Mojang ticket MCD2-92 records a case in which the menu stayed open after defeating the Soul Corrupted Witch and speaking to a villager. No universal player-side fix has been published for that case.

Try a complete session restart
If controls still work, leave the mission through the normal menu, return to the title or main menu, close the game, and relaunch it. If the menu itself prevents normal navigation, close the game using the platform’s standard quit command and start it again. This is a way to clear temporary session state, not proof that the quest data has been repaired.
Do not assume a reset is harmless
Once the menu is available again, the Reset current quest action is an option, but it restarts the current objective. Because Mojang has not published a universal reset procedure, record the lock first whenever you can: quest name, preceding boss or dialogue, platform, version, and a screenshot or clip.

Escalate if the lock returns
If the same dialogue sequence freezes the menu after a restart, stop repeating it and report the reproduction. A repeatable trigger is more useful to the developer than a report that only says the menu “did not work.”
How do I reset the current quest?
Use the quest or mission menu’s in-game Reset current quest action, confirm it, and replay the objective. A community report says this helped when a required key was missing, but that is anecdotal; Mojang has not published a universal guide promising that the command repairs every stuck quest.

- Install the latest available update, including 1.1.3.0 or newer when relevant.
- Return to the objective area and look for the key or interactable first.
- Write down the current objective and take screenshots of the map or marker.
- Understand that the command can restart mission progress from an earlier state.
After the reset
Replay the objective in the order shown by the quest text. Watch for the item, switch, or conversation that failed to appear previously. If the same point fails again, do not keep resetting indefinitely; preserve the second failure as evidence and report the exact sequence.
What the reset does not prove
A successful reset does not establish that the original save was corrupted, and a failed reset does not prove that the entire save is unusable. It only changes the current quest’s progress state. Persistent failures need version information and a reproducible description for diagnosis.
Should I restart the game or reset the quest?
Restart the whole session first when you have not yet updated or when the behavior looks temporary. Reset the quest only after checking the area and accepting that mission progress may be restarted. The choices have different effects and preserve different amounts of useful information.

The table is a decision aid, not a promise that any one action will repair every save. A restart clears temporary state; the reset command changes mission progress; a hotfix addresses only the defects included in that build.

What should I check before resetting again?
Inspect the environment and objective state once more. A reset is more disruptive than walking back through the area, and a missing key or interactable may still be present even when the marker is misleading.
Search the immediate route
Retrace the path from the last completed objective. Check the floor, corners, platforms, side rooms, and the location where an enemy or villager interaction ended. Look for a key that was dropped rather than automatically collected and for a switch that requires a separate interaction.

Compare text and location
Read the objective sentence in the quest menu and compare it with the marker. If the text says to speak, collect, open, or activate something, look for that interaction rather than following the arrow blindly. After updating, close and reopen the quest view to verify that the marker reflects the current objective.
Check the session context
Ask whether the problem began after leaving and rejoining, changing missions, or returning from a menu. That information matters because the Prime Enchanter blocker was tied to leaving and rejoining a session, while a full restart is aimed at temporary state.
Which quest problems are fixed in version 1.1.3.0?
Mojang’s October 22, 2026 hotfix announcement lists several quest-related changes. The named fixes are specific; they should not be treated as a guarantee that every quest blocker has been removed.
- Prime Enchanter arena: the center platform no longer remains lowered in the reported progression-blocking state after leaving and rejoining a session.
- Wrath of the Sculkers: a wrong quest marker is included among the fixes.
- Training with the Enchantsmith: a wrong quest marker is included among the fixes.
- Online quest journal: the update fixes a display problem in which too many player icons appeared.
The update does not make every marker, menu, or missing objective issue identical. If your quest is not one of the named cases, apply the general sequence—update, inspect, restart, then consider a reset—and report a repeatable failure.
How can I report a quest bug so Mojang can reproduce it?
Use Minecraft Help and Mojang’s bug-report route when the failure survives the update and a full restart, or when the menu is frozen, the objective never spawns, or the reset repeatedly fails. Mojang has said it is actively reviewing player reports to prioritize fixes and changes for upcoming releases.
Collect the minimum useful record
- Platform: identify the hardware or platform on which the failure occurred.
- Game version: write the complete version, such as 1.1.3.0, rather than only saying “updated.”
- Quest and objective: include the mission name and the exact objective text.
- Trigger: explain what happened immediately before the failure, including leaving and rejoining, a boss defeat, or a villager conversation.
- Reproduction steps: number the actions another player would need to repeat.
- Evidence: attach a screenshot or short clip showing the marker, frozen menu, arena state, or missing objective.
Preserve the state before experimenting
Capture the failure before using Reset current quest. If you already reset, say so and distinguish the first failure from the post-reset result. This prevents the report from mixing two different mission states.

“The quest is stuck” is less useful than “After defeating the Soul Corrupted Witch and speaking to the villager, the quest menu remains open on version 1.1.3.0 after a full relaunch.” Include what you expected to happen and what actually happened, such as a platform remaining lowered or an arrow pointing to an empty room.
What if the quest still fails after the update and reset?
Treat a repeatable failure as an unresolved bug rather than evidence that you missed a secret step. Stop changing the mission state, preserve your notes and media, and submit the report through Minecraft Help or Mojang’s bug-report process.

Separate one-time state from a repeatable defect
A one-time marker error that disappears after a relaunch may have been transient. A menu that locks at the same dialogue, a platform that remains lowered on every attempt, or an objective that never appears after a reset is reproducible. State which category applies in your report.
Use the version boundary
If the issue is Prime Enchanter, confirm that the test occurred on 1.1.3.0 or later, because MCD2-67 is marked fixed in that version. If the issue is a marker in Wrath of the Sculkers or Training with the Enchantsmith, include whether the hotfix was installed before the marker was tested.
Do not promise a save-repair outcome
The available player steps address session state or the current quest. They do not establish a universal method for repairing persistent save corruption. If the problem follows the save across restarts and resets, report it with the complete record rather than claiming that another reset will recover it.

The reset action is not described as a whole-save wipe, but its documented purpose is to restart the current quest. Keep that distinction clear: it changes the mission state you are troubleshooting, while a complete session restart is intended to clear temporary state without deliberately rewinding the objective.
If preserving the original state is important for a report, capture screenshots or video first. A short clip of the marker, platform, or locked menu can show details that a text description misses.

The game is on an old version
Update before testing anything else. Recheck the named quests and Prime Enchanter on 1.1.3.0 or newer, then relaunch the game.

The marker is wrong but the menu works
Inspect the objective area, reopen the quest view after updating, and restart the session. If the marker remains wrong, document the quest name and location and report it.
A key or interactable is missing
Search the route and nearby rooms first. If it is still absent, record the state, use Reset current quest once, and replay the objective. Report the same failure if it returns.
The Prime Enchanter platform is lowered
Install 1.1.3.0 or newer, relaunch, and replay the arena. If the platform remains lowered on the fixed version, capture the arena and version and file a report.
The quest menu is frozen
Close and relaunch the game using the platform’s normal quit controls. Because no universal player-side fix is published for the Soul Corrupted Witch and villager case, report a repeatable lock with the exact dialogue sequence and version.
The objective never spawns after a reset
Do not keep resetting. Preserve the post-reset state, note the objective text and steps that led there, and submit a reproducible report.

Is version 1.1.3.0 required for every stuck quest?

Does Reset current quest delete my entire Minecraft Dungeons 2 save?
