The most important comparison is whether Halo Support documents a remedy. For the weapon-pickup problem on Windows 1903, it does. For the Steam Deck Easy Anti-Cheat issue, it lists the symptoms but no player-side workaround. If you cannot pick up weapons

If Steam Deck campaign play shows Easy Anti-Cheat errors
Halo Support lists an active issue for Halo: Combat Evolved in MCC when Easy Anti-Cheat is enabled on Steam Deck. Reported effects include errors during campaign play, disconnection from online services, and achievements not being received. If MCC freezes after opening

Compare the timing carefully. A freeze after choosing Quit to Desktop soon after the menu appears matches the listed issue. A launch freeze, a freeze during a mission, or a crash at another point is a different symptom; the cited entry does not diagnose those cases. When you describe the problem, say whether you reached the main menu, whether you selected Quit to Desktop, and how soon after loading the menu the freeze occurred. If the game froze before reaching the menu or while you were playing, say that instead.
