If your Roblox camera is stuck in first person, will not zoom, rotates unexpectedly, or moves toward your character near a wall, first check the control for your device and whether the experience sets its own camera behavior. Roblox has two documented camera modes: Classic, which supports third person and can zoom into first person, and LockFirstPerson, which keeps the view in first person.
Check which camera behavior the experience allows
In Classic mode, you can use a third-person view and zoom all the way into first person. LockFirstPerson keeps the camera in first person. An experience can choose or restrict camera modes, so a view that seems stuck may be intentional rather than a problem with your account or device. Roblox Creator Hub explains the camera modes and settings.
Use the camera control for your device
| Device | Rotate the camera | Zoom | What to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|---|
| Computer | Right-click and drag, or use the arrow controls. | Use the mouse wheel. | CameraToggle is a computer-only movement mode in Creator Hub documentation. |
| Touch device | Tap and drag. | Use the experience’s touch controls; gestures can vary. | Touch camera movement has its own configuration. |
| Gamepad | Use the secondary thumbstick. | Depends on the experience’s controls. | Zoom input is not uniform across experiences. |
These are Roblox’s documented camera rotation inputs; an experience may change the available controls or camera behavior. See Customize the camera and Control the user’s camera.
If the camera is stuck in first person
- Try zooming out using the control for your device. On a computer, scroll the mouse wheel down.
- Check whether the experience offers a camera setting you can change.
- If the view stays in first person, the experience may be using LockFirstPerson or restricting zoom. The experience’s developer controls those settings, so a personal setting may not override them.
If you cannot zoom in or out
On a computer, try the mouse wheel, then check the in-game camera options. If zoom remains limited, the experience may have set a permitted zoom range. Roblox developers configure that range with CameraMinZoomDistance and CameraMaxZoomDistance; these are experience settings, not a universal player-side fix. Roblox’s camera documentation describes these zoom bounds.

- With broad game support, the Logitech Gamepad F310 works with old standbys to today's biggest titles, so it's easy to set up and use with your favorite games.
- Profiler software allows the gamepad to be programmed to perform keyboard and mouse commands for games without gamepad support.* * Requires software installation.
- A familiar control layout that doesn't require a learning curve to be able to use, with all the same buttons as on an Xbox 360.
- The unique floating D-pad rests on four switches-instead of a single pivot point-making it responsive to quick changes in direction.
- The six-foot cord lets you lean back and play a comfortable distance from your PC monitor.
If the camera rotates differently than expected
Test the documented input for your device: right-click and drag or use arrow controls on computer, tap and drag on a touch device, or move the secondary thumbstick on a gamepad. Camera movement settings differ between computer and touch, and an experience can customize its camera. If the input works elsewhere but not in one experience, its settings or controls may explain the difference.
If the camera moves toward your character near a wall
This can be normal occlusion behavior. With the Zoom occlusion setting, the camera moves close to the character when a wall or another object blocks the view. With Invisicam, the camera stays in place and some obstructing objects become semi-transparent. The experience developer chooses the camera behavior. Roblox Creator Hub describes the occlusion options.

If the camera appears frozen or keeps drifting
Roblox’s camera documentation describes device controls and developer-configurable behavior, but it does not establish one universal player recovery sequence for every freeze or drift. Try the documented rotation input for your device, check any camera options available in the experience, and see whether the behavior occurs in other experiences. If it happens only in one experience, contact that experience’s developer; if you need help with a broader Roblox issue, contact Roblox Support.

If you are building or maintaining an experience, Roblox camera behavior can be configured through StarterPlayer settings or replaced with a Scriptable camera. Check the selected camera mode and the CameraMinZoomDistance and CameraMaxZoomDistance bounds when investigating a restricted view. Choose an occlusion behavior deliberately: Zoom moves the camera closer when something blocks the character, while Invisicam leaves the camera in place and makes some obstructions semi-transparent. See Customize the camera and Control the user’s camera.
