Rocket Raccoon is a Strategist who heals teammates with bouncing Repair Mode orbs, supports them with a revival beacon and mobility utility, and can switch to rapid-fire damage or amplify allied damage with C.Y.A. Use healing when allies need it, apply damage pressure when the team is stable, and keep C.Y.A. near allies who need its benefits. Ability values and Team-Up rules can change; check Rocket’s current in-game ability display before relying on exact values or combinations.
What role does Rocket Raccoon fill?
Rocket combines team healing and utility with a damage option, mobility, and an ultimate that boosts allied damage and grants bonus health. The official hero listing gives him 250 health and a movement speed of 6 m/s; these character values can change, so treat them as listing values rather than permanent constants.
His kit supports flexible choices: use Repair Mode when teammates need healing, and switch to Bombard Mode for damage pressure when the team is stable. That is a practical way to balance the two modes, not a guaranteed performance formula.
How do Rocket’s abilities work?
Repair Mode: bouncing ally heals
Repair Mode fires bouncing spheres that heal allies. The official hero listing describes a one-time heal when a sphere hits an ally as well as healing from the spheres as they bounce. A July 10, 2026 balance change raised the ally pass-through heal from 50 to 55. The dated patch value is the clearest confirmed change here; check the in-game display for the current live value.

Bombard Mode: rapid-fire damage
Bombard Mode fires rapid energy projectiles. It gives Rocket a damage option alongside his healing, letting him contribute pressure when teammates are not in immediate need of Repair Mode.
B.R.B.: revival and supplies
B.R.B. (Battle Rebirth Beacon) can revive a fallen ally and periodically produce armor packs and rocket jet packs. It is a source of team utility beyond healing; the official description does not establish a universal best placement or timing rule.

Jetpack Dash, Wild Crawl, and Flying Ace: movement options
Rocket can use Jetpack Dash, traverse walls with Wild Crawl, and descend slowly with Flying Ace. Together these abilities give him ways to move around the battlefield in addition to his healing and damage modes.
C.Y.A.: damage boost and bonus health
C.Y.A. (Cosmic Yarn Amplifier) boosts allied damage and generates bonus health. The July 10, 2026 balance post raised its energy cost from 4,000 to 4,300. It also introduced distance-based decay: the effect begins to fall off at 8 m and can be reduced by as much as 60% at 20 m. Since the benefit diminishes with distance, position the amplifier near the allies who need it rather than assuming distant teammates receive its full effect.

What changed in the July 2026 balance update?
The official post titled “Marvel Rivals Version 20260710 Balance Post” was published July 6, 2026. Its Rocket changes were:
- Repair Mode’s ally pass-through heal increased from 50 to 55.
- C.Y.A.’s energy cost increased from 4,000 to 4,300.
- C.Y.A.’s damage boost and bonus-health generation gained distance-based falloff, starting at 8 m and reaching a maximum 60% reduction at 20 m.
- Rocket’s 5% Team-Up Anchor healing bonus was removed.
These are dated patch notes, not a complete record of every subsequent balance change. The official hero reference may not reflect every later live adjustment, so use the in-game ability display for current values.

Which Team-Up Abilities are listed for Rocket?
The official Rocket hero reference lists Planet X Pals with Groot and Mammalian Bond with Squirrel Girl. It also lists Old Friends involving Groot, Rocket, and Jeff the Land Shark. Team-Up rules are subject to change: the July 2026 balance post discusses a revised Team-Up system and removal of Rocket’s Anchor healing bonus. Confirm availability and effects in game before planning around a particular combination.

- Choose the mode for the team’s immediate need: prioritize Repair Mode when allies need healing; use Bombard Mode for damage pressure when they are stable.
- Keep C.Y.A. close to the allies it should support: its effects decay with distance, beginning at 8 m and reaching up to a 60% reduction at 20 m under the July 2026 change.
- Use Rocket’s utility as well as his healing: B.R.B. can revive a fallen ally and periodically produce armor packs and rocket jet packs, while his movement abilities provide additional ways to navigate.
- Verify live details: character values, balance, and Team-Up availability may have changed since the official listing or dated patch post.
How does Rocket compare with other Strategists?
The available official material supports describing Rocket’s healing delivery, ally revival and item utility, mobility, and Team-Up connections. It does not establish comparative performance, match-up results, or a competitive ranking, so those alone cannot support a tier-list verdict.
