Try the same action that triggered the code. If it fails in Safe Mode, a startup program is less likely to be the immediate trigger; if it works there, compare recently installed drivers and services. Safe Mode is diagnostic, not a permanent repair, so return to a normal restart after testing.
Check Device Manager again
