Compare your installed Windows version, processor, memory, graphics card, and available disk space with the listing. These are Steam-published values; do not assume they are a separately verified requirements table for every PC storefront. Falling short of a requirement can help explain a launch problem, but does not by itself diagnose its cause.

Check Forza’s known issues before trying repeated fixes
Look at the Forza Troubleshooting Hub for known issues, current status, and published workarounds. Turn 10 Studios described the Hub’s purpose in a February 21, 2023 announcement; a recent game update may produce a problem that is already documented there.
The Hub is not where Forza asks players to file crash or player reports. Turn 10 Studios said: “Please do not submit game crashes, lost save or player reports on the Troubleshooting Hub. These should continue to be reported through our Forza Support website.”

How do I fix Forza Horizon 5 not opening on Steam?
For the Steam version, use the current official Forza PC launch and crash article for platform-specific troubleshooting instructions. Check the Troubleshooting Hub first for a current issue or workaround, then follow the applicable steps in that article rather than relying on unverified community fixes.

Forza Horizon 5 won’t launch from the Xbox app—what should I check?
If you launch through the Xbox app or Microsoft Store, use the official PC launch and crash article and select the instructions that apply to your platform. Do not assume that Steam-specific steps or installation menus apply to the Xbox app version. Check the Troubleshooting Hub for any current known issue before making changes to the installation.
If it still will not launch, report the issue through Forza Support rather than posting a crash report as a new Troubleshooting Hub topic. State that you use the Xbox app or Microsoft Store, describe the launch behavior or error, and provide your Windows version, hardware, and attempted steps.

What to include in a Forza Support report
- Your storefront: Steam, Xbox app, or Microsoft Store.
- Your Windows version and PC hardware.
- What happens when you try to start the game, including the exact error text or code if one appears.
- When the problem began and any relevant recent change, such as a game update.
- The troubleshooting steps you have already tried.
Use the official Forza Support website to submit the report. Steam’s Forza support listing also directs players to the official Forza Customer Support Website.
Does a launch failure mean you need an upgrade?
No. A failure to launch alone is not evidence that you need a new PC, storage drive, accessory, or repair utility. First compare your system with the applicable published requirements and check for known issues and official platform-specific instructions. Consider hardware changes only if a separate, specific diagnosis supports them.
