Most Taubound failures fall into one of four patterns: Public Matchmaking never finds a squad, Warframe reports “NETWORK NOT RESPONDING,” a Duviri transition remains on the loading screen, or a host migration disconnects players. Start by identifying exactly which transition fails, then test cross-play, NAT, UDP-port conflicts, IPv6, and the game build in that order. This separates a local network problem from a repeatable Duviri game-state problem and gives Warframe Support useful evidence if the issue remains.
Identify the failure before changing settings
Write down what happens and when it happens. “Taubound is broken” is too broad to diagnose because different failures use different network paths.

- Empty Public Matchmaking: the queue does not place you in a squad, or a squad cannot join the mission.
- “NETWORK NOT RESPONDING”: Warframe detects that the connection between your device and its servers is unstable or taking too long to answer.
- Infinite loading: the screen hangs while entering from Teshin’s Cave, using a portal, entering the Undercroft, or loading another Duviri stage.
- Failure after host migration: the mission stalls, disconnects, or returns a player to the Orbiter when the host leaves.
- Return to the Orbiter: the transition completes unsuccessfully instead of placing you in the intended mission.
Also record your platform, whether Cross Platform Play is enabled, squad size, whether the squad is public or invited, and the exact transition that failed. A problem that occurs only after an extraction or host migration should be investigated differently from one that also affects voice chat and other online games.

The Duviri Paradox provides three entry modes: The Duviri Experience, The Lone Story, and The Circuit. All begin at Teshin’s Cave. The Circuit is an endless Undercroft mode, so its loading and extraction transitions can differ from those in the open Duviri modes.

When troubleshooting, name the path precisely: Teshin’s Cave to the portal, the portal into Duviri, a move into the Undercroft, a return from an objective, or extraction. Official Duviri patch notes have recorded both a rare matchmaking bug and clients becoming stuck in a loading tunnel after host migration. Those documented cases show that a failure can be caused by a game-state or host-transition issue rather than by your hardware alone.
Check Cross Platform Play and reproduce the same test
Cross Platform Play allows missions across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Mobile through squads or Public Matchmaking. The setting is controlled in Warframe’s Options menu. A mixed-platform squad can therefore fail for reasons that do not appear in a same-platform test.
Run a controlled cross-play test
- Open Options and record whether Cross Platform Play is enabled.
- Have every squad member record the same setting and platform.
- Try a direct invite instead of Public Matchmaking, keeping the mission and host the same.
- Repeat with a same-platform squad if one is available.
- Compare the result without changing several other settings at once.
If direct invites work but Public Matchmaking does not, report both results. If a same-platform squad works while a mixed-platform squad fails, preserve the platform and cross-play details for support. Do not treat turning cross-play off as a universal fix; it is a diagnostic comparison that changes which players can be matched.

Warframe’s Strict NAT warning states: “Warframe has detected your network is suffering from a Strict NAT, this will cause you problems when connecting to games, using voice chat or seeing friends on your contact list as online.” Strict NAT can therefore explain failed matchmaking, missing friends, and voice problems at the same time.
Use Warframe’s NAT branch for your network
- If several PCs or consoles share one router, test whether the issue occurs on all of them. Multiple devices can contribute to a restrictive NAT condition.
- Follow the official router branch for UPnP or NAT-PMP when your router supports those features.
- If the router has configurable NAT or port-forwarding controls, use the router-specific branch rather than changing unrelated Warframe settings.
- If you cannot change the router, document that limitation and concentrate on the platform, router state, and support escalation.
Do not infer that a failed Taubound transition is Strict NAT solely because it happened online. NAT is more likely when joining, contact-list presence, and voice chat are also affected. A loading tunnel that appears at the same Duviri stage after a host leaves points toward a different path.
Resolve UDP port conflicts on PC
Warframe’s official Ports In Use page says, “WARFRAME USES UDP PORTS 4950 AND 4955 by default.” If another application is using those ports, contact-list, matchmaking, and voice-communication problems can result.

Change Warframe’s network ports
- Close unnecessary background applications.
- Pay particular attention to torrent software and other programs that may use NAT-PMP.
- In Warframe, open Options > Gameplay.
- Find Network Ports [UDP].
- Change the ports to unused UDP ports when another application is occupying 4950 or 4955.
- Restart Warframe and repeat the same Taubound matchmaking test.
Only change ports when there is a conflict or a documented network reason. A port change cannot repair a game-state failure that occurs after a host migration, and it does not replace fixing Strict NAT on the router.

Warframe Support defines “NETWORK NOT RESPONDING” as a condition in which the network between your PC or console and Warframe’s servers is unstable or takes too long to respond. Treat this message as a connection diagnostic, not as proof that Taubound itself is at fault.
Connection checks
- Run the connection test available through Warframe’s support guidance and note whether the warning returns.
- Use the official IPv6 diagnostic path. If that test indicates an IPv6 problem, temporarily disable IPv6 and retest.
- Restore IPv6 if disabling it does not change the result or if your network requires it.
- Check another online game and a streaming service on the same connection.
- Contact your internet provider when similar failures affect those services as well.
Do not disable IPv6 as a routine performance tweak. The support guidance makes it a temporary diagnostic step when testing indicates an IPv6-related problem.
Separate a local network problem from a Duviri state problem
Use the symptom and the transition to choose the next branch.

Isolation sequence
- Update Warframe on each participating device.
- Test the same entry path solo, if the mode permits it.
- Test Public Matchmaking with Cross Platform Play recorded.
- Test an invited squad and identify the host.
- Repeat with a different host.
- Record whether the failure follows a specific transition, extraction, or host migration.
A solo success with a repeatable public-squad failure suggests a network, cross-play, or host-transition path. A solo failure at the same portal or Undercroft transition suggests a mission-state issue that should be reported with precise reproduction steps.
Platform-specific troubleshooting and evidence
PC
- PC players can change Network Ports [UDP] under Options > Gameplay.
- Close applications that may occupy UDP 4950 or 4955, especially torrent software using NAT-PMP.
- Include the Warframe EE.log when contacting support.
Console and Mobile
- Focus on Strict NAT, UPnP or NAT-PMP, router restrictions, and the platform’s network status.
- Record the device platform and whether Cross Platform Play was enabled.
- Capture the loading screen, error message, or disconnect on video when possible.
- Because the PC port control and EE.log are not available in the same way, provide detailed transition steps and timestamps instead.
What to send Warframe Support
Support can investigate a reproducible failure more effectively than a general report that “Taubound does not work.” Include:
- Platform and device type.
- Cross Platform Play state for every relevant player.
- Squad size, public or invited matchmaking, and the host’s platform.
- The exact route: Teshin’s Cave, portal, Duviri objective, Undercroft, extraction, or Orbiter return.
- The visible symptom and exact wording, including “NETWORK NOT RESPONDING” when present.
- Date and time, including your time zone.
- Steps that reproduce the failure and whether solo, same-platform, or different-host tests changed it.
- Screenshots or video.
- On PC, the EE.log.
- A WAR number if the crash reporter provides one.
Do not label the issue a confirmed Taubound-specific bug unless an official notice does so. Describe the observed transition and attach the evidence instead.

Read each test result instead of guessing
Every comparison should change one condition while preserving the rest. For example, if a public mixed-platform squad fails, do not simultaneously change the router, disable IPv6, and switch hosts. First repeat the invitation with the same host. Then compare a same-platform squad. This makes the result useful rather than creating several new variables.
A direct invite that succeeds while Public Matchmaking fails narrows the problem to matchmaking or the public-session path; it does not prove that your ports are blocked. A same-platform success with a mixed-platform failure makes the platform combination worth reporting. Conversely, if every player cannot see friends online and voice chat is also unavailable, check NAT and port use before treating the mission transition as unique.
When a host migration is involved, note who was host, what the remaining players saw, and whether the loading tunnel appeared before the disconnect. Repeat with another host only after documenting the first attempt. If the same transition fails regardless of host, the repeatable mission state deserves emphasis in the support report. If only one host produces the failure, preserve that host’s platform and network details.

Transition-by-transition checklist
Use the wording of the transition in your notes. At Teshin’s Cave, record whether the squad forms and whether the portal can be activated. At the portal into Duviri, record whether the screen freezes before or after the loading indicator changes. For the Undercroft, identify whether the problem occurs when entering The Circuit or when moving from an open Duviri activity. After an objective or extraction, note whether the mission ends, returns to the Orbiter, or leaves the player in a loading screen.
This level of detail matters because The Duviri Experience, The Lone Story, and The Circuit do not use exactly the same route. Calling every failure “a loading screen issue” hides which mode and transition should be reproduced. Include the mode name, the number of players, and whether the host had already left when the screen stopped progressing.
Common troubleshooting mistakes
- Changing everything at once: disabling cross-play, changing ports, and rebooting the router together prevents you from knowing which test mattered.
- Assuming cross-play is always responsible: mixed-platform testing is useful, but a same-platform failure still requires NAT, connection, or game-state checks.
- Changing UDP ports without a conflict: ports 4950 and 4955 are defaults, not a guaranteed cause of every loading problem.
- Disabling IPv6 permanently: Warframe Support presents this as a temporary diagnostic step when the IPv6 test indicates a problem.
- Calling a repeatable loading tunnel a hardware failure: official Duviri notes show that host migration and matchmaking bugs can produce similar symptoms.
- Sending an incomplete ticket: a screenshot without platform, mode, host, timestamp, and transition leaves Support unable to reproduce the path.
Do not keep repeating the same queue attempt without recording the outcome. A short test log containing the setting, host, transition, and result is more valuable than many undocumented retries.

Escalate after the current build is installed, the cross-play comparison is recorded, NAT and port checks are complete for your platform, and the IPv6 diagnostic has been handled when indicated. Escalation is especially appropriate when the failure is repeatable at one Duviri transition, follows host migration across multiple hosts, or remains after same-platform and invited tests.
Include both successful and failed comparisons. “Solo succeeds, public mixed-platform fails, direct invite succeeds, and the host-migration attempt leaves a loading tunnel” is actionable. “It sometimes does not load” is not. If another online game and streaming service fail on the same connection, contact the internet provider as well as Warframe Support; that points to a broader connection issue rather than a Taubound-only defect.

Should I turn off Cross Platform Play?
Use it as a controlled comparison, not a permanent universal fix. Record the setting for every player, test the same mission with it enabled and disabled, and compare a direct invite or same-platform squad. Include which combination worked in a support report.
What does Strict NAT have to do with Taubound?
Warframe says Strict NAT can cause problems connecting to games, using voice chat, and seeing friends online. Follow the official UPnP, NAT-PMP, or router guidance for your network. If only a loading tunnel after host migration fails, NAT may not be the cause.
Which UDP ports does Warframe use?
