If Nen is not unlocking in Beyond Nen, first confirm that you finished the final Hunter Exam match and received the Hunter’s License. Then open the quest tracker, select Activate Nen, follow it to Rohan in the Nen Cave on Wayfarer Island, complete the meditation objective with a Meditation Mat, and return to Rohan. This is the sequence described in a walkthrough published October 8, 2026—not an officially confirmed fix. The sources reviewed do not establish that this is a known live bug or that any workaround is guaranteed.
First identify which step has not registered
“Hunter Exam progress not counting” can refer to different stages, while “Nen not unlocking” may mean the license, the Activate Nen quest, the meditation task, or the final conversation with Rohan is still pending. Check the in-game objective and marker before repeating an activity or changing anything. The useful first question is not simply whether the game is broken; it is which expected transition did not happen.

Work through the progression in order: exam stage, final match, Hunter’s License, Activate Nen quest, Rohan’s dialogue, meditation task, and return to Rohan. A missing license points to an earlier point in that sequence than a meditation task that appears complete but leaves the quest tracker unchanged. Identifying the earliest step that failed keeps the report specific and avoids mixing an exam issue with a later Nen quest issue.
| What you see | What to check next | What the walkthrough says |
|---|---|---|
| No Hunter’s License or Hunter marker | Confirm the final tournament match is complete and won. | The final match is a one-on-one fight; winning awards the Hunter’s License, and becoming a Hunter is marked by an icon at the top right. Destructoid’s October 8, 2026 walkthrough describes this sequence. |
| License appears, but Nen is not active | Open the quest tracker and inspect the selected objective. | The post-exam objective is called Activate Nen; the walkthrough directs players to follow it to Rohan. |
| Rohan’s meditation task is pending | Check whether you have a Meditation Mat and whether the tracker still points to that task. | The walkthrough says to get the mat from the Port Town merchant if needed, use it for the meditation quick-time event, then return to Rohan. |
| The tracker or objective will not advance | Record the exact action and the result instead of assuming the cause. | Neither the walkthrough nor the other sources reviewed confirms a universal fix or a current Beyond Nen progression defect. |
Use three checks to narrow the issue: which objective is pending, whether the active quest tracker names that objective, and whether the symptom appears only in Beyond Nen or also in other Roblox experiences. These checks do not prove the cause, but they help distinguish a stage-specific problem from a broader Roblox issue and give a support report useful detail.

Confirm the Hunter Exam completion marker
The walkthrough places the Hunter’s License before Nen activation. Its stated final exam step is a one-on-one tournament match: defeat the opponent, then check for the license and the Hunter icon at the top right. If the match is complete but neither appears, note that specific mismatch. The walkthrough does not describe the game’s save rules, how retries count, or a reset procedure, so it does not support recommending that you restart the exam or character.
Separate what you saw during the match from what appeared afterward. For example, write down whether you defeated the opponent, whether the match visibly ended, and whether the license or top-right Hunter marker appeared. If the marker is present but Nen remains locked, that points your next check toward the post-exam quest rather than toward an uncredited tournament win. If the marker is absent, report that rather than presuming the game credited the win behind the scenes.
Use the objective for the stage you actually reached
The exam stages have different objectives. Compare the task you were doing with the stage below; do not treat one incomplete segment as proof that the entire exam failed to count. The walkthrough names a timed obstacle-course finish for the Stamina Race, a maze and NPC fight at Trick Tower, a survival objective involving two badges on Zevil Island, and a one-on-one final tournament match. Those differences matter when describing what did or did not count: “the exam failed” gives less diagnostic information than the stage name and its displayed objective.

|---|---|---|
| Stamina Race | Finish the timed obstacle course. | Whether you reached the finish before the timer ended and what completion indicator appeared. |
| Trick Tower | Navigate the maze and fight an NPC. | Whether you completed both the maze and the fight, and which part the tracker still shows. |
| Zevil Island | Survive while holding two badges. | Whether you had two badges when the stage ended, and what the objective displayed afterward. |
| Final tournament | Win the one-on-one match. | Whether the opponent was defeated and whether the license or Hunter marker appeared. |
For the Stamina Race, the guide’s description is a timed finish, so record whether you reached the finish and whether the game displayed completion. Do not infer from a partial run that a later stage was supposed to unlock; the walkthrough does not explain internal save rules or how the game treats retries.
At Trick Tower, the described task includes both navigating the maze and fighting an NPC. If progress seems stuck there, say which part you completed and what the tracker currently names. The source does not establish that completing only one part grants stage credit, or that repeating either part changes the result. At Zevil Island, the guide describes surviving with two badges. Record whether you had two badges when the stage ended and what appeared after that; do not assume a badge count alone proves the game registered the stage.

- AN ICONIC FRANCHISE Hunter x Hunter is iconic. The manga series was created by Yoshihiro Togashi in 1998 and follows a young boy named Gon, who departs on a journey to become a Hunter like his father. Along the way, Gon meets various other Hunters and encounters the paranormal. The series has sold over 84 million copies, and in 2011, it was adapted into an anime. HUNTERxHUNTER: NENxIMPACT is not only the first true fighting game in the franchises historyits also the first game to be released worldwide!
At the final tournament, the walkthrough says a win over the one-on-one opponent awards the license. That makes the license and the Hunter marker the key verification points, rather than a guess based on the match ending. Across all four stages, use the objective text and what appeared on screen as observations, not as a claim about how Beyond Nen stores or awards progression.
These objectives and the marker description are from the third-party walkthrough. It does not explain internal progression tracking, so use the table to pinpoint the apparent failure—not to infer that a particular retry will repair it.

Follow the Activate Nen quest to Rohan
- Open the quest tracker. Press
P. The walkthrough says to hide other trackers and leave Active Quest selected so the Activate Nen objective is visible. Read the active text before travelling; the point is to check which step the game currently presents, not to assume that the tracker is already on the right quest. - Follow the named NPC route. The Librarian in Port Town directs the player to Rohan at the Nen Cave on Wayfarer Island. Talk to Rohan and follow the dialogue indicated by the quest. If you have already visited him, compare the tracker text before and after the conversation.
- Check what the tracker says after talking. If it still points to the same step, write down the text and location rather than assuming the conversation advanced. The walkthrough does not provide an alternate dialogue choice or a confirmed recovery action.
This is a useful point to distinguish “I have not reached the NPC” from “I spoke to the NPC but the next objective did not appear.” The former means the reported step is travel or quest routing; the latter is a non-advancing objective after dialogue. Include the exact objective text and whether you spoke to Rohan if you need to report it. Neither state alone confirms a bug, and the walkthrough does not describe a different NPC route or a special dialogue selection to force progression.
The route, tracker key, and quest wording above are reported by the October 8, 2026 walkthrough. Controls and quest details can change with game updates.
Complete the meditation objective and return to Rohan
- Get a Meditation Mat if you do not have one. The walkthrough says it can be bought from the merchant in Port Town. This is an in-game item, not a recommended real-world product. Check whether the quest is actually asking for the meditation task before buying anything; the mat is relevant to that objective, not a general fix for a missing Hunter’s License.
- Place and approach the mat. Use the in-game placement and interaction prompts. The walkthrough says to press
Twhen near the mat. If the prompt or key differs in the current game, note what appears rather than treating the walkthrough’s control as guaranteed across versions. - Finish the quick-time event. Complete the keyboard-letter sequence shown by the event. The source does not say that any particular keyboard is required. Record whether the event appeared and whether you completed it if the tracker fails to change afterward.
- Return to Rohan. Follow the active quest tracker back to the Nen Cave and talk to him again. The walkthrough says this is when Rohan unlocks Nen after the meditation task.
Think of this as a sequence with two separate verification points: first, whether the meditation event starts and completes; second, whether returning to Rohan advances the quest or unlocks the ability. If the event never appears, the unresolved point is the mat interaction. If the event completes but the tracker remains on meditation, report that result. If the tracker advances but Nen still does not appear after the return conversation, note that exact order of events. These distinctions make the symptom clearer without assuming a cause.

Do not treat the mat as a proven workaround for every progression problem. The walkthrough includes it in the Nen quest sequence, but it does not say that buying another mat, repeating the event, or purchasing another item repairs a tracking failure. The skateboard it mentions elsewhere is not relevant to the Nen steps described here, and no real-world keyboard or gaming accessory is identified as necessary.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIf the interaction key, quest text, or prompt differs from this description, rely on what the current game displays and report the discrepancy. The guide’s controls and sequence are version-sensitive, and no official Beyond Nen notice in the sources reviewed confirms them as a current bug fix.
Verify whether Nen unlocked
The walkthrough describes the following controls after unlocking: Nen techniques on the E wheel, Nen charge on G, and the Nen skill tree on M. Check the game’s current interface for these indicators. If they do not appear, record whether the license is present, which Activate Nen objective remains, and whether the meditation event completed; those details separate an exam-stage issue from a post-exam quest issue.
Use the controls as checks reported by the guide, not as universal proof that an unlock succeeded or failed. If the current interface differs, do not assume that a key listed in an October 2026 walkthrough must still be current. For a clear report, state what you checked—for example, that the Hunter marker appeared, the meditation task was completed, and the guide-listed Nen controls were not visible. This is more useful than reporting only “Nen is broken,” because it identifies where the described sequence and your result diverged.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. If progress still does not count, document and report it
No source reviewed establishes that “Nen not unlocking” or an exam stage failing to count is a confirmed, current Beyond Nen bug. A fan-site overview updated September 11, 2026 identifies Beyond Nen as a Roblox experience but says verified progression and Nen-awakening details were not available there at that time. That absence does not prove the walkthrough is wrong; it is a reason to distinguish its instructions from an official confirmation. The overview and the walkthrough are independent sources.

For a reproducible Roblox glitch, Roblox Support advises reporting what the glitch does, when it started, and whether it happens in one experience or across multiple experiences. It points players to the DevForum or a bug-report form. See Roblox’s glitch-reporting guidance.
A concise report can follow this structure: name the experience; identify the stage or quest objective exactly as displayed; state what action you took; state what you expected to happen and what happened instead; include when you first noticed it; and say whether it occurs in Beyond Nen alone or elsewhere on Roblox too. For example, distinguish “I won the final one-on-one match, but the Hunter marker and license did not appear” from “I have the license, but the Activate Nen tracker remains on the meditation step after I completed the event and returned to Rohan.” These are examples of useful descriptions, not diagnoses or guaranteed solutions.
- State the exact exam stage or quest step, including the displayed objective text.
- Describe the action that should have advanced it and what happened instead—for example, winning the final match without seeing a license marker, or completing the mat event while the tracker remains unchanged.
- Include when the issue began and whether it occurs only in Beyond Nen or in other Roblox experiences too.
- Use an official game channel if available. The independent game overview lists Roblox, Discord, and X as official channels; the game’s links page is another place to check for current community links. Its reviewed page did not provide a bug-fix procedure.
Keep the report focused on the observed progression point. If you do not know whether the issue is limited to Beyond Nen, say that you have not checked rather than guessing. If the objective text or interface has changed since the walkthrough, describe the current wording. This helps someone comparing reports distinguish a missing license, an NPC route that does not advance, a mat event that does not register, and a post-event conversation that does not unlock Nen.
Do not treat resetting your character, switching servers, repeating the exam, or buying an item as a proven remedy: the sources reviewed do not validate those actions as fixes. The walkthrough also does not explain retry credit or a reset method. Before trying an unverified change, preserve the details of the stage and objective that failed so you can report them accurately.

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do first if Nen will not unlock in Beyond Nen?
Check whether the final Hunter Exam match was won and whether the Hunter’s License or top-right Hunter marker appeared. If it did, open the quest tracker with P, select Active Quest, and follow Activate Nen toward Rohan. This is the sequence described by Destructoid on October 8, 2026, not a guaranteed fix.
Best Value
Do I need the Hunter’s License before I can activate Nen?
The October 8, 2026 Destructoid walkthrough places the Hunter Exam and the Hunter’s License before the Activate Nen quest. It says the final one-on-one tournament win awards the license. The source is a third-party walkthrough, not an official confirmation of a current bug or progression rule.
Where is Rohan, and how do I start the Activate Nen quest?
The walkthrough says the Librarian in Port Town directs players to Rohan at the Nen Cave on Wayfarer Island. It recommends opening the quest tracker with P, hiding other trackers, leaving Active Quest selected, and following the Activate Nen prompt. Controls and details may change.
How do I complete the Nen meditation task?
The walkthrough says to get a Meditation Mat from the Port Town merchant if needed, place it, approach it, press T, and complete the keyboard-letter quick-time event. Then return to Rohan using the active quest tracker and talk to him. The source does not identify a particular keyboard as necessary.
Which controls should I check after Nen unlocks?
The walkthrough lists Nen techniques on the E wheel, Nen charge on G, and the Nen skill tree on M. Treat these as guide-reported, potentially version-sensitive controls and check the current game interface.
Is Hunter Exam progress not counting a confirmed Beyond Nen bug, and should I reset?
The sources reviewed do not confirm a current progression bug or a guaranteed remedy. They also do not validate resetting a character, changing servers, or repeating the exam as fixes. Record the exact stage, objective text, action, result, and when it began, then report it through an official game channel or Roblox’s glitch-reporting options.
The Bottom Line
Check the sequence in order: the final Hunter Exam win and license, the Activate Nen tracker, Rohan at Wayfarer Island’s Nen Cave, the Meditation Mat quick-time event, and the return conversation. Destructoid’s October 8, 2026 walkthrough describes that route, but the sources reviewed do not confirm a live bug or a guaranteed fix. If a step still does not register, document exactly what you did, what the tracker showed, and when and where the issue occurs before reporting it.
