Update PokeDaisy and Android, restart the phone, free enough storage, and then reproduce the fault with PokeDaisy’s FPS/CPU overlay enabled. PokeDaisy 1.2.0, released October 13, 2026, specifically reports smoother frame pacing and a fix for “Audio hiccups at normal speed.” If the problem remains, Android safe mode can reveal interference from another downloaded app. Before uninstalling an older installation, copy your saves from Android/data/com.pokedaisey.app/.
The three symptoms need slightly different diagnosis. Audio that falls behind while the game continues usually warrants a frame-pacing and load check. A crash should be tied to its trigger, versions, storage, and safe-mode result. A black screen is a branch rather than one confirmed universal GPU bug: note whether audio continues, whether only one game is affected, and whether updates or safe mode change the behavior.

Start with a safe baseline
Do not begin by deleting data. First record the state in which the failure occurs. Open Settings > VERSION in PokeDaisy and write down the displayed version. Also note the Android version, device model, game and ROM version, whether the game is running at normal speed or fast-forward, and the exact action that precedes the fault.

These observations matter because the official feedback form asks for the PokeDaisy version, device model and Android version, game/version, expected and observed behavior, and reproduction steps. A short, repeatable description is more useful than “it does not work.”
- PokeDaisy version from Settings > VERSION.
- Phone or tablet model and Android version.
- Game title, ROM version, and the point at which the symptom appears.
- Normal speed versus fast-forward behavior.
- Available storage, especially if the device is nearly full.
- Whether the same test changes in Android safe mode.
1. Update PokeDaisy and Android first
Install every available PokeDaisy update from your app source and check Android’s system-update screen before doing invasive troubleshooting. PokeDaisy release 1.2.0, dated October 13, 2026, lists smoother frame pacing, an FPS/CPU overlay, faster game opening, and a fix for “Audio hiccups at normal speed.” Earlier release notes also document fixes for crashes, memory use, CPU spikes, and a status-bar crash. A device still running an earlier build can therefore be exhibiting a problem already addressed in the current release.
- Open the store or installation source where PokeDaisy is maintained and install the latest available version.
- Open Android Settings, use the system-update section, and install any pending Android update. The exact menu wording varies by manufacturer and Android release.
- Restart the device rather than merely closing the app.
- Launch PokeDaisy, load the same game and ROM, and repeat the exact baseline test.
Do not assume that an update alone proves the cause. If the symptom disappears, note the version that resolved it. If it remains, continue with the load and isolation checks below instead of repeatedly reinstalling.
2. Reduce load and verify free storage
Close other games, video players, browsers, screen recorders, overlays, and emulators before testing PokeDaisy. If an app remains active in the background, use Android’s app-info screen to force-stop that unused app, then reopen PokeDaisy. Avoid changing several unrelated settings at once; you need to know which change affected the result.

Check the storage page in Android Settings. Google’s Android Help says a phone can start having issues when less than 10% of storage is free. That threshold is a warning point, not a promise that every failure below it has the same cause. Delete or move large files, remove unused downloads, and empty a recycle-bin or trash area if your file manager keeps one. Restart PokeDaisy after making space and repeat the test.
- Keep the device above the 10% free-space warning point where possible.
- Do not delete PokeDaisy data or ROMs while trying to free space unless you have verified backups.
- Test once with background apps closed and once after a normal restart so you can distinguish a transient load problem from a repeatable emulator fault.
3. Use the FPS/CPU overlay to investigate audio lag
PokeDaisy 1.2.0 exposes an FPS/CPU overlay. Enable it using the performance or display option provided by your installed build, then reproduce the audio delay without changing the game or ROM. The overlay is a measurement aid; the documented release notes do not promise that changing one displayed value will fix every device.
When audio lags at normal speed
Play for long enough to make the delay repeat. Watch whether the frame rate becomes uneven at the same moment that sound falls behind, and whether the CPU reading rises sharply. If both change together, capture the observation in your notes and retest after closing background apps and freeing storage. If the frame rate and CPU reading stay stable while audio alone drifts, record that distinction for the bug report rather than guessing at a graphics setting.
When fast-forward changes the symptom
Run the same scene at normal speed and at fast-forward. Audio that is clean at one speed but delayed or distorted at the other is a useful reproduction boundary. Note the speed setting, the overlay readings, and whether pausing briefly resynchronizes sound. Do not treat fast-forward behavior as proof of a particular codec, ROM, or driver problem; the available documentation supports comparison, not a universal diagnosis.

What to capture
- The overlay values immediately before and during the delay.
- Whether the picture stutters, remains smooth, or catches up after pausing.
- Normal-speed and fast-forward results for the same game scene.
- Whether a restart, update, or closing other apps changes the result.
4. Troubleshoot crashes by trigger
A crash that happens at launch has a different evidence trail from one that occurs after extended play. After updating and restarting, run controlled tests rather than repeatedly opening the app at random.
Crash before a game opens
- Confirm the PokeDaisy version in Settings > VERSION if the app remains open long enough to show it.
- Check Android and free storage, then restart.
- Try opening a different installed game or ROM. If every title crashes, the fault is more likely at app or device level; if one title fails, keep the game and ROM version in the report.
- Close overlays, recording tools, and other recently used apps before a second test.
Crash during play or after a delay
Record the approximate play time, scene, speed setting, screen orientation, and any action immediately before the crash. Earlier PokeDaisy release notes mention crash, memory-use, CPU-spike, and status-bar crash fixes, so compare your result with the current build before attempting a reinstall. A crash that disappears after a restart but returns after the same duration should still be reported as reproducible; include the interval and trigger.
Crash when switching apps or using the status bar
Repeat once without opening the notification shade, rotating the device, or switching apps. Then repeat the action deliberately. This separates a general game crash from a transition or status-bar path. Keep the result tied to the Android version and device model, since those details are required by the feedback form.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute5. Treat a black screen as a diagnostic branch
Official information does not identify one GPU driver or Android build that fixes every PokeDaisy black screen. Use the symptom’s behavior to choose the next test rather than applying a single supposed universal fix.

If audio continues while the screen is black
Note that the game is still running, including whether button presses produce sounds or advance the game. Restart PokeDaisy after recording the observation, then repeat with the latest app and Android versions, background apps closed, and adequate storage. A continuing soundtrack indicates that “black screen” is not the same as a complete process crash, but it does not by itself identify whether rendering, a transition, or another app is involved.
If the screen is black only for one game
Test another game or ROM without changing the device setup. A game-specific result should be reported with that title and ROM version. If every game produces the same black screen, include that broader scope in the report and proceed to safe mode.
If the black screen follows a transition
Record whether it appears after loading, rotating, opening the status bar, switching apps, or changing speed. Repeat the same transition once after a restart. Do not claim that a particular GPU driver is responsible unless an official update or support response establishes it; the documented guidance supports observation and escalation, not a blanket driver fix.
6. Test Android safe mode for interference
Android safe mode temporarily disables downloaded apps. It is an isolation test, not a permanent way to run PokeDaisy.

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.
- Dual C-Clamp Hold - Worried your dual monitors might wobble or slip? Our upgraded base uses a larger platform plus a dual C-clamp structure to lock the dual monitor arm firmly to your desk. Each arm safely keeps your screens steady while you type, click and game—no shaking, no sliding, just a clean and secure setup you can trust every day. The monitor stand offers +85°/-50° tilt, ±90° swivel and 360° rotation. Raise your monitor up to 15.75″ to support a healthy sitting posture. Whether you’re working from home, gaming through the night, or switching between video calls and documents, getting the screens to your natural line of sight helps relieve neck, shoulder and back strain so you can stay focused longer with less fatigue.
- Keep Your Desk Organized: By lifting both screens off the desktop, this dual monitor stand opens up valuable space for your keyboard, notebook, docking station or a simple, clutter-free work area. Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
- Use your device manufacturer’s documented method to start Android safe mode; the button sequence differs among phones and Android versions.
- Open PokeDaisy in safe mode and reproduce the audio, crash, or black-screen test with the same game and settings.
- Restart normally to leave safe mode.
- If the problem occurs in normal mode but not safe mode, remove or disable recently installed downloaded apps one at a time, restarting and retesting after each change.
Apps that draw over other apps, record the screen, automate input, alter audio, or aggressively manage memory are especially worth testing because they can change what PokeDaisy sees. Safe mode cannot prove which app is responsible; it tells you that the normal downloaded-app environment is relevant. If the fault remains in safe mode, report that result and continue with the version, storage, and reproducibility details.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.7. Protect saves before reinstalling
Reinstallation is a last resort after updates, restart, storage, load reduction, and safe-mode testing. PokeDaisy was renamed from PokeDaisey to PokeDaisy in version 1.1.0. Android treats the renamed package as a new app and installs it alongside the old one. Saves stored only in the old app-specific location can therefore be lost when the old installation is removed.
- Before uninstalling anything, use a file manager or computer to copy the contents you need from
Android/data/com.pokedaisey.app/to a separate, known backup location. - Verify that the copied files are present and readable. Do not rely on a backup that you have not checked.
- If you use user-managed RetroArch folders, note their locations; those folders can be selected again during setup.
- Only after the backup is confirmed should you uninstall the old installation or perform a clean reinstall.
- Install the current PokeDaisy build, select the relevant user-managed RetroArch folders again during setup, and test with the backed-up saves.
Android versions and file managers can restrict access to Android/data. If the folder is not visible, use a computer connection or the file-access method supported by your Android version instead of deleting the app and hoping the saves are retained.

When the fault survives the normal troubleshooting sequence, use the official PokeDaisy feedback form. Include the exact version from Settings > VERSION, device model, Android version, game and ROM version, expected behavior, observed behavior, and numbered reproduction steps.
Useful reproduction format
- Launch PokeDaisy version and load the named game and ROM.
- Set the speed to normal or fast-forward and state the exact value if shown.
- Perform the action that triggers the problem.
- Describe the audio delay, crash point, or black-screen state, including whether audio continues.
- State whether the same steps changed after updating, restarting, freeing storage, closing apps, or testing safe mode.
The form says logs are optional and can be supplied as adb logcat -s pokedaisy output. If you choose to provide them, reproduce the issue first and capture the relevant output rather than attaching an unrelated old log. The repository also documents an opt-in Settings > CRASH REPORTS option; enabled reports can include the device model, Android version, and crash location.
Do not include private files or save data in a log unless the support instructions specifically request them. A concise report with one reliable reproduction path is preferable to a long list of guesses.
Symptom-to-test checklist
| Symptom | First comparison | Evidence to record | Next branch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Audio lag | Normal speed versus fast-forward | FPS/CPU overlay, frame pacing, whether pausing resynchronizes sound | Update, reduce load, then report if the pattern remains |
| Crash | Launch, loading, play duration, or app transition | Trigger, versions, storage, game/ROM, safe-mode result | Isolate downloaded apps and submit reproducible steps |
| Black screen | Audio continuing, one game versus all games, transition involved | Screen state, sound/input response, update and safe-mode results | Treat as an unresolved branch; do not assume one driver fix |
Common mistakes to avoid
- Skipping the update: older builds may lack the normal-speed audio fix, frame-pacing work, or crash fixes listed for newer releases.
- Changing everything at once: if you update, delete data, install another app, and alter speed settings together, you lose the ability to identify the meaningful change.
- Ignoring storage: Android’s documented warning point is less than 10% free space, and low space can affect more than PokeDaisy itself.
- Calling every black screen a GPU bug: no official source establishes one universal driver or Android-build remedy.
- Uninstalling before backing up: the PokeDaisey-to-PokeDaisy rename means the old app and new app can coexist, and saves in
Android/data/com.pokedaisey.app/may be removed with the old installation. - Sending a vague report: “black screen” or “audio bad” omits the version, trigger, game, and expected result needed to investigate.
When to stop troubleshooting locally
Escalate after the current PokeDaisy and Android updates are installed, the device has been restarted, storage is above the 10% warning point where possible, competing apps are closed, the overlay observation is recorded for audio problems, and safe mode has been tested when interference is plausible. At that point, further random setting changes are less useful than a complete report with the reproduction steps and optional log output.
