How do I pair a PULSE 3D headset with a PS5?

Reduce radio interference
- Remove wireless adapters that you are not using from nearby USB ports.
- Move other wireless devices away from the console and PULSE adapter while testing.
- Test with the headset closer to the PS5. If the connection improves, the original position was outside a reliable range or was obstructed.
Separate the adapter from USB 3.0 noise
USB 3.0 devices near the wireless adapter can produce skipping. Temporarily remove nearby USB 3.0 storage or accessories. If you need to keep them connected, use a USB extension cable to place the PULSE adapter farther from the USB 3.0 device and its cable. This changes the adapter’s physical position without changing the headset or console.
Retest after each change
Make one placement change at a time and play or use voice chat long enough to reproduce the fault. If skipping disappears after moving the adapter, leave that arrangement in place. Echo usually means the microphone level is too high for the room, headset position, or another player’s speaker setup. Sony recommends moving the microphone-level fader two to four notches to the left.
- Open Settings > Sound > Microphone.
- Leave the PULSE 3D selected as the input device.
- Move the microphone-level fader two to four notches left from its current position.
- Speak again and ask a party member whether the echo has stopped.
Lowering the level too far can make your voice quiet, so stop as soon as the echo disappears while the meter still reaches a usable range. If echo remains after the adjustment, reset the headset and adapter using the documented reset sequence. Why is my game audio or chat audio too loud, too quiet, or missing?
The PULSE 3D has separate CHAT and GAME controls for the relative mix. Pressing both buttons at the same time restores the default balance, which is the fastest fix when one channel has been turned almost all the way down.
Correct an unbalanced mix
- Start a game or party so both game and chat audio are active.
- Press CHAT to increase the chat share relative to game audio, or press GAME to increase the game share.

Restore sound after a connection
