If Roblox stops before opening with “Failed to load library: SensApi.dll”, treat it first as a local Roblox or Windows loading problem—not as proof that you need to download a replacement DLL. Restart Windows, check antivirus quarantine, clean-reinstall Roblox, then repair Windows with DISM followed by SFC.
Do not download SensApi.dll from a third-party DLL site or copy an arbitrary file into C:WindowsSystem32.

What the SensApi.dll error means
A DLL is a Windows dynamic-link library that applications use for shared functions. In this case, Roblox cannot load or access a library named SensApi.dll. Roblox describes its general “Failed to Load Library” error as a client-side failure involving a required DLL that may be missing, corrupted, outdated, or blocked.
That description does not prove that SensApi.dll itself is damaged. Possible causes include corrupted Roblox files, damaged Windows system components, antivirus interference, an incomplete Windows update, or a compatibility problem with one Roblox distribution. Community reports have associated some incidents with Roblox client and anti-cheat changes, but those reports do not establish one universal current cause.

If Roblox opens normally but a particular experience fails to load, investigate service or network problems separately. A failure that occurs before the Roblox client opens and specifically names SensApi.dll usually points to the PC or client installation.

Try these checks first
- Restart Windows.
- Close Roblox and any Roblox-related processes in Task Manager.
- Open Windows Security, or your installed antivirus, and review Protection history, quarantine, and blocked-item logs.
- Check the exact spelling of the DLL in the error. A message naming
MFPlat.dllorEVR.dllfollows a different troubleshooting path. - Open Settings > Windows Update and select Check for updates. Restart after updates are installed.
Fix 1: Clean-reinstall the Roblox desktop client
A clean reinstall removes damaged client files and is the least destructive substantial fix.
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps. On some Windows 10 installations, this may be called Apps & features.
- Find Roblox, select its menu, and choose Uninstall. Microsoft also documents the equivalent uninstall process in its Windows app-removal guide.
- Press Win + R, enter
%localappdata%, and press Enter. - Delete the
Robloxfolder if it remains. - Restart Windows.
- Download the installer from the official Roblox download page and install it.
This does not delete your Roblox account, Robux, or cloud-saved progress. It removes local application files; sign in again after installation.
Fix 2: Try the current Microsoft Store app
Switching distribution is a useful diagnostic. If the desktop installer fails, install the current Store app named Roblox – Windows from the Microsoft Store listing.

Roblox identifies the newer app with a blue icon. The older Store app is named simply Roblox and uses a light-gray icon. Install and sign in to Roblox – Windows, confirm that it launches an experience, and then uninstall the old app if it is still installed. Do not leave multiple obsolete versions installed indefinitely.
Conversely, if only the Store version fails, remove it and test the official desktop download instead. One version working does not prove the other is permanently broken, but it helps separate a distribution-specific problem from a broader Windows issue.

Run these commands from Command Prompt or Windows Terminal opened as administrator. Microsoft recommends DISM first because it can repair the Windows component store that SFC uses as a source.
- Open Start, type
cmdorWindows Terminal, right-click it, and choose Run as administrator. - Run this command and wait for it to finish:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth- Then run:
sfc /scannow- Restart Windows after both commands complete, then test Roblox.
SFC may report one of these results:
- “Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.” Protected system files were not found to be corrupted.
- “Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.” Restart and test Roblox again.
- “Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.” Review the CBS log, rerun DISM if appropriate, and consider Windows recovery options if the problem continues.
- “Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.” Microsoft suggests additional troubleshooting, including trying the scan in Safe Mode in some circumstances.
To extract SFC entries into a text file on the desktop, run:

If DISM fails
- Confirm that the terminal window is elevated.
- Install pending Windows updates and restart.
- Check that the PC is online; standard DISM repair may use Windows Update as its source.
- If Windows Update itself is damaged, Microsoft documents using a valid repair source:

Fix 4: Check antivirus and Windows Security
Security software can quarantine or block a legitimate Roblox file, particularly after a client update. Open Windows Security or your antivirus and inspect quarantine, protection history, and blocked-file logs around the time the error began.
Restore or allow a file only when you are confident it is a legitimate Roblox file and the security vendor has confirmed the detection is a false positive. Afterward, reinstall Roblox so its files are restored cleanly.
Do not permanently disable antivirus protection. Avoid broad exclusions; if a narrowly scoped exclusion is absolutely necessary, limit it to the legitimate Roblox installation location and remove it if it does not help. On a school or company PC, endpoint protection and Group Policy may be intentional restrictions—contact the device administrator instead of bypassing them.
Fix 5: Update Windows and graphics drivers
Install available updates through Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates, then restart. Also update the graphics driver through the GPU manufacturer’s official support page where possible. Device Manager’s automatic driver search is a basic fallback, but it does not always provide the newest driver.

A graphics-driver update can resolve compatibility problems, but it should not be treated as proof that it will restore a missing or corrupted Windows DLL. Microsoft provides additional Windows Update troubleshooting.
Fix 6: Check Windows N or KN editions
Open Settings > System > About and check the Windows edition. N and KN editions can omit media components needed by some applications.
Media Feature Pack is mainly relevant when the error names a media-related library such as MFPlat.dll or EVR.dll, or when Roblox specifically indicates missing media components. It is not a proven universal fix for every SensApi.dll error. Roblox includes this conditional advice in its general library-error guidance.
Use a clean boot or another Windows account as isolation tests
If the error remains after reinstalling Roblox and repairing Windows, use a clean boot to determine whether a startup utility or security product is interfering. Re-enable services gradually after testing so you can identify the conflicting software; do not leave essential security services disabled.
You can also test Roblox under another local Windows account. If it works there, the original user profile may have damaged local settings or permissions. If it fails under multiple accounts and in both the desktop and Store versions, a single Roblox installation becomes less likely as the cause. Investigate Windows, security software, or the wider device environment.

What not to do
- Do not download
SensApi.dllfrom a random DLL archive. - Do not copy an arbitrary DLL into
C:WindowsSystem32. - Do not take ownership of protected Windows files as a routine fix.
- Do not use registry cleaners, “DLL fixer” tools, driver-updater utilities, or unexplained PC-repair programs.
- Do not permanently disable antivirus protection.
- Do not reinstall Windows before trying the built-in repair tools and alternate Roblox client.
- Do not run Roblox as administrator as a standard solution. It may mask a permissions problem without repairing the cause.
Microsoft’s supported first-line approach is DISM and SFC. Manual replacement is an advanced procedure for a specifically identified file and a verified, compatible source—not a reason to use public DLL-download sites. See Microsoft’s System File Checker documentation.
When to contact Roblox Support
Contact Roblox Support if the error survives a clean reinstall, Windows repair, security review, updates, and testing with the alternate client. Include:
- The exact error text and named DLL.
- Your Windows edition and version.
- Whether you use the desktop installer or Microsoft Store app.
- Whether antivirus quarantined or blocked anything.
- The final DISM and SFC results.
- Whether the alternate Roblox distribution works.
- Any memory-dump message or file path shown by Roblox.
A memory-dump prompt may help diagnose a client crash, but creating or submitting a dump is not itself a fix. Preserve the exact message rather than deleting files or changing protected Windows permissions.

Is SensApi.dll a Roblox file or a Windows file?
The error identifies a Windows dynamic-link library that Roblox is trying to load. It does not mean the file should be downloaded separately from Roblox or a DLL archive.
Does Media Feature Pack fix SensApi.dll?
Usually it is relevant only to Windows N/KN editions or errors naming media libraries such as MFPlat.dll or EVR.dll. It is not a universal SensApi.dll fix.
Does this error mean Roblox is down?
Usually no when Roblox fails before the client opens and names SensApi.dll. Roblox service or network issues are more relevant when the client opens but individual experiences fail.
