If Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order crashes on Xbox Series X or Series S, try EA’s general Xbox troubleshooting steps in order: update the console, disconnect USB devices and restart, power cycle, then reinstall the game. If it is installed on external storage, try installing it on the console’s internal drive. These are general troubleshooting suggestions—not confirmed fixes for a specific Fallen Order crash bug.
Try these Xbox troubleshooting steps in order
EA’s crashing and freezing guidance recommends the following actions for Xbox. Menu names can vary slightly with console software updates.

- Check for an Xbox system update. Make sure the console is running the latest available system software.
- Disconnect USB devices and restart. Unplug devices connected to the Xbox’s USB ports, then restart the console and try the game again.
- Power cycle the console. EA recommends a power cycle but does not give Xbox-specific button instructions on the cited page. Use Xbox Support for the current procedure rather than following the PlayStation instructions on EA’s page.
- Reinstall the game. If Fallen Order is installed on an external hard drive, EA suggests trying it on the Xbox’s internal drive. Reinstalling can take time and requires enough storage space.
- Clear the alternate MAC address. From the Xbox dashboard, go to Settings → All Settings → Network → Network Settings → Advanced Settings → Alternate MAC address → Clear, then restart the console. Some labels may differ by software version.
- Delete local saved data only after checking your saves. EA lists deleting local saved data as a troubleshooting step, but its guidance does not explain save recovery. Before deleting anything, confirm that your save is synced or backed up. If you cannot verify that, skip this step and contact support.
Work out when and where the crash happens
If the steps do not help, note whether the game crashes at launch or during play, whether other games also crash, whether Fallen Order is installed internally or externally, and whether the console is up to date. These details can help support narrow down the issue; they do not, by themselves, establish its cause.

EA’s general crash guidance says: “If your game keeps crashing or freezing, try closing background apps.” That page provides separate instructions by platform, so use the Xbox guidance for an Xbox console.

What EA confirms about the Xbox Series X|S version
EA announced a next-generation release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for Xbox Series X|S. Its next-generation optimization notes describe graphics and performance changes, not a fix for a particular crash report.
