Click Retry first. If the message returns, HoYoverse’s PC launcher FAQ recommends rebooting the game or trying the download again. If those steps do not help, check your connection and available storage, use HoYoPlay’s Repair Now option, and then restart or reinstall from an official source.
Follow these steps in order
- Click Retry. The exact message addressed by HoYoverse is “Game files verification error. Select ‘Retry’ to try again.” Retry is the first instruction in its PC Version Launcher FAQ, published April 23, 2023.
- If the error returns, reboot the game or try the download again. These are the FAQ’s next suggestions. It does not guarantee that either will resolve every occurrence.
- Check the download conditions. Make sure your internet connection is stable; HoYoverse suggests trying a direct cable connection or another Wi-Fi network if needed. Also confirm that the device has enough available storage. These are general download and update recommendations, not a diagnosis of this specific error.
- Run HoYoPlay’s repair function. In HoYoPlay, use Repair Now, then reopen the launcher and check whether the error remains. HoYoverse includes this in its general download and update troubleshooting guidance.
- Restart the device. If the error continues, reinstall the game from an official source. HoYoverse directs PC players to its website and mobile players to the App Store or Google Play for reinstalling.
If the download reaches 100% but appears stuck
A download reaching 100% does not necessarily mean the launcher has finished: HoYoverse says it then verifies the integrity of game resources. Allow that process to complete. If verification remains stuck for an extended time, contact Customer Support. The installation guidance published in November 2025 also suggests trying another network for a slow or failed download; it does not identify the cause of an individual verification error.

When to contact HoYoverse Support
If Retry, the download checks, and launcher repair do not resolve the problem—or integrity verification stays stuck—send Customer Support the information HoYoverse requests:
- Your device model and operating system.
- A screenshot or screen recording showing the error.
- The time and region where it occurred.
These details give support a clearer picture of the failure than the error text alone.

Do not confuse verification errors with decompression errors
HoYoverse has separate guidance for certain launcher decompression failures, including advice to switch installation drives or networks. Those steps concern different errors, not the exact “Game files verification error” message. Use that advice only if the launcher is actually reporting a decompression failure; it is not an established fix for this verification error.

HoYoverse’s published guidance does not establish one cause for every occurrence or promise that any single step will work in all cases.
