Fixing crashes or stuttering in Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on PC starts with matching the symptom to the right check. A DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG message, a video-memory warning, and stuttering that changes when an overlay is disabled point to different possibilities. Try the reversible steps below one at a time; no single setting is a guaranteed fix.
Record when the problem happens
Before changing settings, note the exact error or warning, when it appears, and whether the game fails at the same point each time. Also record the game version and store, GPU and CPU, graphics-driver version, resolution, graphics settings, and whether overclocking, overlays, capture tools, antivirus features, or enhancement software are active.
Nixxes says random device hangs can have several possible causes; a hang that repeats at the same point may instead indicate corrupted game files, hardware incompatibility, or a game bug. If you see DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG
This message means the graphics card stopped responding. Nixxes lists outdated or corrupted drivers, software conflicts, overclocking, overheating, and hardware instability as possible contributors. The error alone does not identify which one is responsible.

- Clean-install the graphics driver. Use the clean-install option provided by your GPU driver installer, then restart the PC and check whether the same crash recurs.
- Reduce the graphics workload. Lower the preset or resolution, and temporarily turn off optional features such as frame generation. Change one setting at a time where practical so you can tell whether it affected the symptom.
- Close background and overlay software. Exit apps that capture, monitor, or modify the game, then test again.
- Restore default hardware settings. If the GPU, CPU, or memory is overclocked, return it to its default settings for a test.
- Verify the game files. Use the file-verification option in the store client where you own the game.
- If you use an NVIDIA GPU, try Debug Mode. Nixxes includes this as a troubleshooting check for device-hung errors.

If stuttering or freezing changes with overlays or enhancement tools
Overlays and software that hooks into a game can sometimes contribute to stuttering, freezing, performance problems, or crashes. Nixxes names OBS, ReShade, Overwolf, SteelSeries GG Sonar, Logitech G-Hub, RTSS, MSI Afterburner, and NVIDIA Filters as examples.

Disable or detach one tool at a time, then replay the same section or repeat the same action. If the symptom changes, re-enable the tool to see whether the problem returns. This helps isolate a possible conflict without assuming that every listed app is incompatible. See Nixxes’ overlay and enhancement software guidance.
If the game reports insufficient video memory
Start with the warning’s direct suggestions: lower graphics settings and resolution, and close unnecessary background applications. A video-memory warning can also appear when Windows page-file allocation is insufficient, including on high-end hardware. As an initial test, Nixxes recommends letting Windows manage the page-file size automatically.

Automatic management is not a universal fix: documented cases show that automatic page-file growth can itself lead to allocation errors. If the warning persists or new allocation errors appear, consult Microsoft’s page-file troubleshooting information rather than making arbitrary system changes. Test antivirus-related stuttering cautiously
Nixxes reports player feedback that Malwarebytes Real-Time Protection and/or Ransomware Protection can affect game performance. If you use Malwarebytes and the game stutters or freezes, check whether temporarily disabling the relevant feature or adding a game exception changes the behavior. Treat this as a test, not a diagnosis, and restore protection after testing. Nixxes’ Malwarebytes guidance discusses the reported association.

Compare your PC with the published performance targets
PlayStation publishes the following PC tiers for the collection. They are average performance goals and hardware specifications, not guarantees that every system will achieve the target or avoid crashes. Naughty Dog’s September 28, 2022 support article records the same broad tiers.

Use the tier closest to your intended resolution, frame rate, and settings to identify a possible hardware shortfall. Compare the GPU and its VRAM, CPU, RAM, and storage together. A PC above the minimum tier can still have software conflicts or instability; the specifications do not rule those out. PlayStation’s official PC page also describes graphics settings, GPU/VRAM management options, ultrawide support, and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2. These features can help manage visual quality and performance, but none is established as a fix for crashes.

Send reproducible crashes to Nixxes
If a crash repeatedly occurs at the same point or after the same action, submit it through the in-game Crash Report window. Nixxes asks you to include the log from that same session—the log resets when the game launches again—a ZIP of the save-folder contents, and DxDiag.txt with the support request.
