Fortnite calls its cosmetic shoes Kicks. To get a pair, check the Kicks category in the Item Shop when items are available. To wear a pair you own, open the Locker, select an Outfit that supports Kicks, and equip them. Kicks replace that Outfit’s original shoes; they do not provide a competitive advantage.
How do you get shoes in Fortnite?
Open the Fortnite Item Shop and look for the Kicks category. The shop is Epic’s documented general route for obtaining them. Its stock and prices can change, so check the live listings rather than relying on an older price or assuming a particular pair is available.

How do you equip Kicks in Fortnite?
- Open the Locker.
- Select an Outfit that supports Kicks. Epic says you can filter owned Outfits by whether they can use Kicks.
- Choose the Kicks you own and equip them.
The pair replaces the Outfit’s original shoes. If the Kicks option is unavailable for a selected Outfit, check compatibility before trying another pair.

Why can’t you equip Kicks on an Outfit?
Not every Outfit supports Kicks. Epic’s March 25, 2025 update to its Kicks announcement said that all but a few Outfits were compatible and pointed players to its compatibility information for the incompatible Outfits. That update is dated, so consult Epic’s page for the current list rather than treating compatibility as permanent.
Where do Kicks work?
Kicks are cosmetic and do not provide a competitive advantage. Epic lists limitations on their use in LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, Save the World, certain Creative and UEFN devices, and LEGO or Fall Guys Creator Islands. Availability can therefore depend on the experience or mode, even if the Kicks are equipped in your Locker.
