Points belong to their own categories, so a surplus in one tree does not pay for a perk in another. If you regret a choice, Lethean Water is described by game guides as resetting purchased perks and refunding their points without reducing earned levels.
How perk points work
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II ties progression to what Henry does. Activities raise the related stat or skill, and leveling a category earns points for its own perk tree. For example, using bows or crossbows develops Marksmanship, while drinking develops the Drinking category. These examples illustrate the activity-based system; they are not the only ways to progress.

Points are category-specific rather than one shared balance. The Player screen groups perks under Stats, Skills, and Combat. If you have points elsewhere but cannot buy a perk, check the available-point count in that perk’s category and continue training the relevant stat or skill. This category layout and restriction are described in Shacknews’ 2025 guide: how to spend perk points in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
How to spend perk points
- Open the Player screen.
- Inspect the Stats, Skills, and Combat sections, then open the category containing the perk you want.
- Check that category’s unspent-point indicator and the perk’s level requirement.
- Select an available perk. Read any warning about mutually exclusive choices before confirming.
Perks can have different requirements, so do not assume one level threshold applies to the whole tree. Shacknews gives Partner in Crime in Speech as an example of a perk gated until level 20; check the requirement shown for the specific perk you want.

Why you may not be able to buy a perk
- The points are in another category. Perk points are not freely transferable between trees; build points in the category where the perk appears.
- You have not met its level requirement. Continue progressing the relevant category and check the perk’s stated requirement in the Player menu.
- The perk is an exclusive alternative. Some choices prevent selecting another perk, so consider the warning and compare their effects before committing.
How to reset a perk choice
Lethean Water is described in game guides as a respec potion: drinking it removes purchased perks and returns the points, while earned levels remain intact. That allows you to redistribute points without undoing category progression. The available sources do not establish a current, guaranteed location, recipe, or price, so check current in-game information rather than relying on an unverified acquisition tip. This respec behavior is covered by the Kingdom Come: Deliverance Wiki entry for Lethean Water and PowerPyx’s perk-reset guide.

Before spending a point, weigh the perk’s practical benefit for your playstyle against its level requirement and any mutually exclusive alternative. A choice that supports frequent use of a particular skill may be more valuable to your build than one you rarely use; the menu’s requirement and exclusivity warning are the key checks before you commit.
