In Final Fantasy X HD Remaster, the documented PS3 shortcut is a software reset: press Q + W + E + R + Start + Select at the same time. It may not work in every situation. The PS3-era manual does not list a regular FFX command to return to the title screen; on PC, a Steam community discussion reports exiting and relaunching the game to reach the load screen.
On PS3: use the software-reset shortcut
- Press Q, W, E, R, Start, and Select simultaneously. The official PS3 manual documents this as a software reset: FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster User Manual.
- If the shortcut works, the game resets rather than opening an ordinary in-game menu. The manual warns that a software reset cannot be performed in some circumstances.
The manual identifies Start as opening the menu and Select as pausing, but the FFX controls and title-screen sections reviewed do not list a normal return-to-title command. That is not proof that no such command exists in every version or situation.
On PC: exit and relaunch
A 2016 Steam Community discussion describes closing and relaunching the Steam version to get back to the load screen: “How return to main menu?” This is player-reported guidance, not an official instruction, and it does not establish behavior for other platforms or every PC control setup.
Save before leaving if you can
Save spheres appear only in certain locations. The manual advises saving whenever possible, so use one before resetting or exiting if you are near one and want to preserve progress: official user manual.

Do not use the X-2 shortcut for FFX
The manual’s instruction to press Start to “Open menu/Return to title menu (when game is paused)” is listed for Final Fantasy X-2, not Final Fantasy X. The two games share the HD Remaster collection, but that X-2 control should not be assumed to work in FFX. Square Enix provides the official manual index.

The six-button reset instruction is in the PS3 controls of the PS3/Vita-era manual. The available documentation does not establish an equivalent chord for Vita, PS4, Xbox, Switch, Switch 2, or every PC configuration. Nintendo’s Switch 2 listing confirms a current platform example, but does not document a return-to-title shortcut.
