The standard way to get Caliber in The First Descendant is to buy it in the in-game shop: open Inventory (I) > Shop > Caliber > Purchase. Free Caliber is not established as a permanent farm; it may be offered in limited-time events, so check the game’s Event area for current rewards and terms.
How to buy Caliber
- Open your Inventory by pressing I.
- Select Shop, then open the Caliber section.
- Choose Purchase and follow the in-game prompts.
Nexon’s Currency guide identifies Caliber as a currency for shop items, Battle Passes, and other products. Check the current in-game shop for available purchase options.
Can you get Caliber for free?
Limited-time events may offer Caliber, but the official examples available do not establish an ongoing way to farm it. Check the in-game Event area for current offers and their eligibility and claim requirements. Nexon’s October 1, 2026 event notice lists rewards such as Kuiper Shards, Gold, Crystallization Catalysts, and Ultimate Alignment Devices, but does not list Caliber. That notice describes its event only; it does not rule out a separate or later promotion.
A past Twitch Drops promotion
Nexon’s Crossplay Open Beta Twitch Drops ran September 19–25, 2023 (PDT). Its schedule awarded 100 Caliber after 30 minutes of eligible viewing, 150 after 60 minutes, 200 after 90 minutes, and 250 after 120 minutes. Those were rewards for that test-period campaign, not a standing earning method.

For that historical promotion, players had to link Twitch with the chosen platform account, watch a Drops-enabled stream, claim the reward on Twitch, then claim it on the event page. Nexon said the reward would be delivered to the linked game account’s mailbox. See the original Twitch Drops notice for the dated campaign details; those steps do not make the expired event available now.
What if purchased Caliber is missing on another platform?
Caliber access across platforms depends on account linking and the platform used for the purchase. Nexon’s account-linking guide says linked accounts can use Caliber purchased across platforms, while its support article explains that Caliber is viewable and usable on the purchase platform and may also be used on linked platforms. It is not safe to assume a purchase will automatically appear everywhere.
- Confirm which platform was used to buy the Caliber.
- Check that the game account is linked to the other platform account.
- Consult Nexon’s support guidance if the balance remains unavailable.
Caliber is not Kuiper Shards or Gold
Kuiper Shards and Gold are separate in-game currencies, not alternative ways to earn Caliber. Nexon describes Kuiper Shards as coming from dismantling modules and being used for module enhancement; Gold can come from selling items and defeating monsters. Neither activity converts those currencies into Caliber.
