To get early access to DMZ in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, digitally preorder or prepurchase either the Standard Digital Edition or Vault Edition. Xbox Wire reports that all DMZ access opens early on Tuesday, October 20, 2026; the Campaign Early Access window starts earlier, on Friday, October 16. The full game launches October 23.
How to qualify for early DMZ access

Choose a supported platform storefront and digitally preorder or prepurchase a Modern Warfare 4 digital edition. Activision lists Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PlayStation 5, Battle.net, Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2 for its Campaign Early Access offer. Availability and start dates may change, so check your storefront for current details. Activision’s announcement and its edition guide describe the digital-edition eligibility.

Use the digital edition tied to your platform account, then check the platform store and game library near October 20 for the current install and access instructions. There is no single universal menu path established for every platform.

Look for DMZ access beginning Tuesday, October 20. That date is reported by Xbox Wire on October 9, 2026; check in-game and platform availability in case timing changes.

Campaign Early Access and DMZ early access are separate windows: qualifying for the former does not mean DMZ opens on October 16. Activision’s Campaign announcement provides the Campaign date, while Xbox Wire reports the earlier DMZ window.
