To get Glass in LEGO Fortnite Odyssey, gather Sand and Brightcore and process them in a Metal Smelter. LEGO’s guide specifies 2 Sand per Glass; check the smelter’s displayed recipe for the Brightcore amount in your current game version. The Metal Smelter blueprint unlocks at Village Level 9.
Gather Sand in a Dry Valley
Take a Shovel to a Dry Valley and dig the sandy ground. A Common Shovel can harvest Sand, according to LEGO’s Glass guide; Epic’s v28.30 release notes also describe digging Sand with a Shovel in sandy areas.

Mine Brightcore in a lava cave
Brightcore is found in glowing rock deposits inside lava-filled caves in the Dry Valley. LEGO’s guide says you need a Rare Pickaxe or better to mine it. Bring suitable heat protection and prepare for cave enemies before going underground.

Unlock and build a Metal Smelter
The Metal Smelter blueprint unlocks at Village Level 9. To upgrade a village from Level 8, LEGO’s guide lists these materials:

- 15 Obsidian, mined in lava-filled Dry Valley caves with a Rare Pickaxe or better.

Building the Metal Smelter requires 15 Brightcore, 35 Obsidian Slabs, and 3 Blast Core, according to the same guide. For Dry Valley heat, LEGO suggests options such as Snowberry Shakes or a Cool-Headed Charm; a Snowberry Shake recipe uses 2 Snow Berries and 1 Milk and provides 10 minutes of heat protection per shake. These are preparation options, not mandatory steps.
Smelt Sand and Brightcore into Glass
- Open the Metal Smelter and check its recipe list. If Glass is listed, supply Sand and Brightcore as shown by the station.
- Use 2 Sand for each Glass. LEGO’s guide identifies Brightcore as the other input but does not state its quantity per Glass, so rely on the current in-game recipe panel for that amount.
- Let the smelter process the materials and collect the Glass.
Glass is a processed resource in this recipe; it is not gathered as ordinary ore. Epic summarized the process in the v28.30 notes: “Craft Glass with Sand and a Metal Smelter!”

If the Glass recipe is missing
Dig Sand with a Shovel in a Dry Valley or Shores biome and add it to your inventory. LEGO’s Power Cells guide says obtaining Sand teaches the Glass recipe. Then check the Metal Smelter menu again.

Epic’s v28.30 notes likewise say that adding Glass to your inventory unlocks Spyglass and Compass recipes when a Crafting Bench is in the world. LEGO’s Power Cells guide lists a Power Cell recipe of 6 Glass and 50 Biomass; Power Cells can run vehicle Power Centers.
