To get Graviton Spike, finish The Edge of Fate campaign on Kepler, complete the Graviton Through the Ages Exotic quest—including four weapon-piece searches and a Vex Data Fragments step—and claim the reward from the end chest in The Sieve. The campaign launched on July 15, 2025, according to Bungie’s expansion guide; quest-route details below come from walkthroughs published in July 2025, so use current in-game markers where they differ.
Before you start: finish the campaign and pick up the quest
Complete The Edge of Fate campaign on Kepler first; the walkthroughs report that any campaign difficulty works. Bungie’s progression guide lists Graviton Through the Ages among the expansion’s Exotic quests. (Bungie progression guide)

Quest pickup descriptions differ slightly: Dot Esports places the handoff at the Altar of Relativity after the campaign, while PC Gamer says to pick it up from Lodi. The sources do not clarify whether those refer to the same interaction. Check the post-campaign Kepler objectives and speak with Lodi if the quest is not already available. Find the four weapon pieces
The quest sends you to four Kepler areas: Outer Steppes, the Gorge, Exile’s Accord, and Central Academy. The recurring pattern is to defeat a Rosetta Sentry, activate the Aionian terminal, then follow its triangulation or objective marker to the piece. Matterspark, Mattermorph, and Relocator mechanics provide access to otherwise blocked routes. Walkthroughs published in July 2025 describe the routes below; follow the current objective marker if an encounter or space has changed.

Outer Steppes
Follow the first marker to Outer Steppes. Speak with Lodi and Emeritus, and progress Rosetta to level 3 when the objective requires it. Defeat the Rosetta Sentry and use the Aionian terminal to triangulate the piece. The final route uses Matterspark-charged pylons or generators and a launcher. Search the marked black substance or object, then return to Emeritus.
The Gorge
Defeat the Rosetta Sentry and activate the terminal. Near the Cyclops, take a Matterspark route into the side room to obtain Mattermorph. Use Mattermorph to clear the obstructed passage and reach the marked weapon piece.

Exile’s Accord
Defeat the Rosetta Sentry and activate its terminal, then follow the marker. PC Gamer’s July 2025 route uses a Relocator to pass through a vent-and-portal route to the black substance containing the piece.
Central Academy
Shoot the yellow shield generators to open the Aionian Campus entrance, then activate the terminal. In the courtyard, find Mattermorph and apply it to the hanging crate to access the Relocator. Shoot through the laser-grid door and use the resulting portal to reach the last piece.

Collect Vex Data Fragments
Defeat Vex to gather the fragments as a separate quest stage. GameSpot’s July 2025 guide specifies 100 fragments and reports that yellow-bar enemies provide more; Dot Esports says Vex enemies generally count and suggests Vex Energy Extraction as a farming option. Treat the 100-fragment figure as a guide-era requirement and check the quest tracker for the live count. (GameSpot walkthrough)

Once the weapon-piece and fragment objectives are complete, use the Kepler map to find and enter The Sieve. The walkthroughs agree that completing its encounter and opening the end chest awards Graviton Spike. The activity appears periodically. Dot Esports reported a 90-minute appearance interval and a 30-minute duration in its July 2025 guide, but those timing figures are not confirmed as current; check the live Kepler map rather than planning around a fixed schedule.

What to do after earning the weapon
Intrinsic upgrades
Graviton Spike is an Exotic hand cannon with Arc and Stasis firing modes. GameSpot describes Arc as the faster-firing mode and Stasis as slower but harder-hitting, and reports a 150 RPM rate. PC Gamer and GameSpot describe three Temporal Manipulation intrinsic upgrades on Kepler. Their puzzle routes use Arc to open glowing flower pods and Stasis to break exposed crystals; these interactions can stop fans or open paths. GameSpot identifies routes in Caldera, Stellar Sink, and Curtilage Divide. These are post-reward upgrades, not steps needed to earn the base weapon.
Catalysts
Catalyst availability and unlock conditions are not settled by the July 2025 guides: GameSpot describes four catalysts tied to Fabled and Mythic World Tiers, while Dot Esports says to wait until catalysts become available. Verify the current in-game catalyst requirements before pursuing them; they are separate from the quest for Graviton Spike itself.
