Complete Vesper’s Host and work on its Ice Breaker drop-rate triumphs; Bungie has not published a current drop percentage or confirmed whether repeat clears can award it more than once per week.
Where Ice Breaker drops
Ice Breaker is the Exotic weapon associated with Vesper’s Host. Bungie identified it as the dungeon’s Exotic when Vesper’s Host launched in 2024. The current route to pursue it is to access and complete that dungeon.
Bungie’s current Update 9.7.0 support guide lists Vesper’s Host among the available dungeons. That confirms the activity is available, subject to its ownership requirements; it does not guarantee that a clear will award Ice Breaker.
How to access Vesper’s Host
Under Bungie’s post-Update-9.7.0 guidance, access to specific dungeons depends on owning the relevant expansion or Dungeon Key. Bungie says Dungeon Keys are included in Destiny 2: The Collection, released June 9, 2026, or can be acquired in Eververse. Check your account’s entitlements if the dungeon is unavailable to launch.

Once you have access, open the Director and navigate to Vesper’s Host using the current activity interface. Bungie’s guide describes the post-Update-9.7.0 navigation, so older instructions showing a previous Director layout may not match the game now.
Improve your chance with Vesper’s Host triumphs
Vesper’s Host has triumphs that increase Ice Breaker’s initial drop rate. Check the dungeon’s in-game triumphs and complete the ones that specify an Ice Breaker drop-rate boost as you pursue the weapon.

The available evidence does not establish a trustworthy current base chance or the percentage added by each triumph. Treat precise odds quoted in community posts as unverified, not as official drop rates.
Is Ice Breaker guaranteed, or can you farm it?
The guarantee often mentioned for Ice Breaker applied to Vesper’s Host’s launch-period Contest Mode event. Bungie announced on October 10, 2024 that players who completed the dungeon in Contest Mode during that event would receive the Exotic. That was a time-limited launch reward, not a current guaranteed method.

For October 2026, the current Bungie guidance confirms dungeon access but does not settle whether repeated clears can award Ice Breaker again during the same week. It is therefore not possible to state authoritatively that the weapon is either farmable on every clear or limited to one chance per character per week. Complete the activity and check the current in-game loot and triumph information rather than relying on old weekly-limit reports.

A Bungie known-issues page last updated February 12, 2025 listed Vesper’s Host problems involving Rogue Network quest steps and secret chests. That dated list does not establish that those issues remain active in the October 2026 build. If a quest step or chest currently prevents progress, check Bungie’s live Help page and current patch notes for an up-to-date status.
