The earthquake opens the caves containing Regirock, Regice, and Registeel; each is a level 40 encounter.
What you need before starting
- Pokémon that know Surf, Dive, and Dig.
- Wailord and Relicanth in your party. For the final inscription, Wailord must be in the first party slot and Relicanth in the last.
That party order is specific to Emerald. Ruby and Sapphire use the reverse order, so do not follow instructions for those versions.
How to reach the Sealed Chamber and open the three caves
- From Pacifidlog Town, Surf west into the currents on Route 134. Follow the current path to the Dive spot.
- Dive and follow the underwater passage to the braille inscription at the dead end. Use Dive at the inscription to surface inside the Sealed Chamber.
- In the outer chamber, go to the back wall, read the braille, and use Dig to open the passage.
- In the inner room, put Wailord in the first party slot and Relicanth in the last if they are not already there. Read the final inscription. An earthquake opens all three Regi caves.
You can visit and catch the three Pokémon in any order.
How to open each Regi’s door

If a Regi door does not open
Check the Emerald party order
If the Sealed Chamber’s final inscription does not trigger the earthquake, check that Wailord is in the first party slot and Relicanth is in the last, then read the inscription again.

Recheck the Regice wall circuit
For Emerald, Serebii’s dedicated Regi guide specifies one clockwise lap next to the wall. Another guide gives a counterclockwise lap, while a separate section of Serebii’s general legendary guide says two clockwise laps. These instructions conflict; use the dedicated Emerald guide’s one-clockwise-lap solution rather than combining them.
Make sure you are using the right chamber action
The door puzzles are different: Regirock requires the exact two-left, two-down movement before Rock Smash; Regice requires the wall circuit; Registeel requires Flash from the room’s center.
