The official Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 Steam page explains that the empty Freddy Fazbear head is meant to fool animatronics that enter the office. It does not specify Golden Freddy’s exact behavior, so the specific advice here comes from player guides rather than developer documentation.
When Golden Freddy’s head appears in the hallway
Do not keep shining the flashlight at the head. The same tips guide warns that excessive flashlight use can trigger an attack, and a 2016 Steam Community discussion also advises against repeated flashing and recommends the mask.

There is a disagreement about the precise input: the tips guide and discussion point to the mask, while an older Steam Community walkthrough says to raise the camera quickly to make the head disappear. Because these are player-authored accounts and do not agree, the exact hallway response is not settled by these sources. Avoid repeated flashlight use; if the mask does not work in your situation, the walkthrough’s camera advice is an alternative reported by that guide, not a confirmed universal rule.
