Its debut event offered it in one-star raids and as a Collection Challenge reward; a later Halloween event also listed wild encounters and raids. Those events have ended, so check the current in-game event details before setting out. The official sources available here do not confirm where to find Sinistea now or how to identify its Antique form with certainty.
Where Sinistea has appeared in Pokémon GO
Sinistea debuted during the Just My Cup of Tea event, which ran December 3–7, 2024, local time. The event listed Sinistea in one-star raids, and its Collection Challenge rewarded a Sinistea encounter.
Sinistea appeared again in the Halloween 2025 Part I event, October 21–27, 2025, local time. That announcement listed it as a possible wild encounter and in one-star raids. It also announced Sinistea’s shiny debut and an increased chance of encountering shiny Sinistea in raids during the event.
These are dated, historical encounter routes; neither announcement establishes Sinistea’s availability in October 2026. Check the active event announcements and in-game encounter details for a current route rather than assuming that raids, wild spawns, or the Collection Challenge are still available.

How to look for the Antique form
The official event announcements do not explain how to distinguish Antique-form Sinistea from Phony form, whether the forms are selected separately during encounters, or how likely an Antique encounter is. The reviewed sources therefore do not support a specific visual test or odds percentage. Serebii describes a special Sinistea form as rare in the wild, but that secondary reference does not establish a rate or a current Pokémon GO encounter schedule: Serebii’s Sinistea entry.
When you encounter or catch one, inspect that individual Pokémon’s in-game information rather than relying on an unverified guide or assuming every Sinistea has the same form. The available official information does not establish a definitive in-game identification procedure, so do not treat a particular mark, appraisal result, or encounter animation as authoritative based on these sources alone.

Evolving Sinistea into Polteageist
The 2024 debut announcement states that Sinistea evolves into Polteageist using 50 Sinistea Candy. It does not say that evolving requires the Antique form, nor does it document a different evolution cost for that form.

What to check before spending time on an encounter
- Look at current Pokémon GO event information for an active Sinistea appearance; past event listings do not guarantee present availability.
- Check whether the listed route is a raid, wild encounter, or event challenge reward, since these are the channels documented in the past announcements.
- Do not plan around a claimed Antique-form percentage: no verified rate is established by the cited sources.
