To get the free Butcher DOOM Slayer Skin, opt in to Bethesda marketing emails for the free in-game bundle. Bethesda lists Butcher as part of that offer; it is not documented as a gameplay challenge, purchase bonus, or code redemption. After claiming it, equip the skin from the game’s title-screen menus.
How to claim the Butcher skin
- Open Bethesda’s current marketing email signup and follow its instructions to opt in to the free in-game bundle. Bethesda’s support article identifies the offer as “Opt in to Bethesda Marketing Emails for the Free In-Game Bundle” and lists the Butcher DOOM Slayer Skin among its contents: Bethesda’s skin-selection guide.
- Complete any confirmation or account steps the live signup page requests. Bethesda’s support article does not specify the exact signup flow, regional eligibility, or whether a Bethesda.net account or account link is required for this particular reward, so follow the instructions shown for your account and location.
DOOM: The Dark Ages does not require a Bethesda.net account just to play. Bethesda says an account can be used for certain skin rewards, including rewards connected to marketing email opt-in; that does not establish which account steps apply to this specific offer. Where to equip the Butcher skin
- Return to the game’s title screen.
- Choose Extras, then Slayer Skin.
- Select Butcher from the available skins.
Bethesda notes that opening Extras from the in-game pause menu only allows weapon-skin changes; use the title-screen menu to change the Slayer’s appearance. The menu path is described in Bethesda’s skin-selection guide.
What the Butcher reward is—and is not
The documented route for Butcher is the marketing email opt-in bundle. Bethesda’s skin guide lists other rewards separately, including edition and pre-order entitlements, promotional drops, and hardware-related skins. Those are distinct unlocks, not alternate ways to claim Butcher. In particular, the limited-edition Xbox controller reward is the Executioner skin, not Butcher; see Bethesda’s skin-selection guide and Bethesda’s promotion details.
