How the AMD promotion worked
During the 2023 campaign surrounding the PC release of The Last of Us Part I, AMD and participating retailers bundled a PC copy of the game with qualifying Radeon desktop graphics cards. The offer also applied to some qualifying prebuilt gaming desktops.

Can you still get the game free with a Radeon card?
Not through the original AMD offer as a general, current benefit. AMD’s current store promotions page reports no active AMD Store promotions matching this deal. An old-stock product or a private resale listing could theoretically include an unredeemed code, but that must be proven by the specific seller and documentation.
Use this rule when evaluating a listing:
A Radeon card purchased today should not be assumed to include The Last of Us Part I unless the listing explicitly identifies the game code, its redemption region, its expiration date, and whether the code is unused.

Unofficial code sellers and account transfers are not reliable substitutes for an authorized bundle and can introduce fraud, region-lock, or redemption problems.

If you obtain a legitimate code from an eligible promotion, follow the redemption instructions supplied with that promotion. Do not assume that a code for one PC storefront can be exchanged for a code for another storefront, or that a code issued in one country will work in another.
Check your PC before buying a graphics card
A qualifying promotion would not make the game playable on every system. Steam’s published requirements call for the following baseline configuration:

The requirements are especially important when comparing different Radeon generations. The RX 6500 XT appears among the listed minimum AMD GPU examples, while the RX 6600 XT appears among the listed recommended examples. Those entries describe hardware compatibility—not a current game giveaway.
Which Radeon card makes sense for this game?
If you are buying hardware for the game rather than chasing an expired bundle, an AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics card is a relevant model to compare because it appears in the game’s listed recommended GPU examples. That makes it a sensible starting point for checking current listings, used prices, power requirements, and availability.
Do not interpret that recommendation as a statement that every RX 6600 XT listing includes the game. A current Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg, or system-builder listing is a hardware purchase unless its own terms explicitly describe a valid promotional code. The same distinction applies to an RX 6500 XT, RX 7000-series card, or a prebuilt gaming desktop.

AMD’s Radeon product material has also used The Last of Us Part I in dated performance-testing content for RX 7000 products, and describes the RX 6000 family as RDNA 2 gaming hardware. Those references help explain the game’s connection to Radeon graphics, but they do not establish a current bundle or guarantee a particular frame rate.
What to verify in an old-stock or bundle listing
