The Rainbow Habitat is a special habitat—not the Rainbow Dragon—and it can house any dragon. There is no current official acquisition method, requirement, or price established here, so check the live event and offer screens in your game rather than relying on old event instructions or unverified workarounds.
What the Rainbow Habitat is
Dragon City’s Help Center describes the Rainbow Habitat as able to house any dragon and says it has a much larger occupancy rate than other habitats. See Socialpoint’s habitat guide.

That is different from obtaining the Rainbow Dragon: the habitat is a place to house dragons, not a dragon itself.
How to check whether you can get it now
- Open the game’s current event screens. Look for an event that explicitly lists the Rainbow Habitat as a reward. Read its displayed tasks and end time; event availability and requirements can vary.
- Check the in-game offer screens. If the habitat is offered, review the price and exactly what the offer includes before deciding.
- If neither shows it, there is no confirmed current route to follow. The available official information does not establish a present event, offer, eligibility requirement, or price for the habitat.
Dragon City’s official Dragon Sources announcement, published February 4, 2025, explains that tapping a dragon portrait can show sources for obtaining that dragon, such as event islands or Missing Dragon Rescue, and can indicate when no source is available. That feature is about dragons; the announcement does not say it finds habitat offers.

Can you get it for free?
A verified Dragon City video published September 11, 2021 described a Pride Quest that awarded the special Rainbow Habitat and tokens: the 2021 Pride Quest video. This confirms a past event route only. It does not show that the quest is running now, recurs, or guarantees a free habitat today.
Whether a current free route exists can only be established from what the game currently displays. If an event lists the habitat as a reward, follow that event’s stated requirements and deadline; otherwise, a free method is not confirmed.

Why not rely on the level-7 restart tip?
A third-party FAQ updated November 12, 2023 claimed that reaching level 7 and restarting the application could grant the habitat. That claim is not corroborated by the official habitat guide or current official information cited here, so it is not a reliable method to recommend.
