In retail World of Warcraft, check your faction’s portal room for a portal labeled Dalaran, Crystalsong Forest. That is Northrend’s Wrath-era Dalaran. If you cannot use that portal, travel to Northrend by your faction’s transport and continue to Crystalsong Forest. Confirm the destination label: Legion Dalaran in the Broken Isles is a different city.
Use a portal to Dalaran, Crystalsong Forest
Warcraft Tavern’s current general travel guide describes a portal to Dalaran in Crystalsong Forest in the Stormwind portal room. Check your faction’s portal room and read the destination label before entering. Portal availability can depend on game updates or character progression, and the guide does not establish that every character or faction always has access to it. If the portal is unavailable, travel through Northrend
Use your faction’s boat or zeppelin route to reach a Northrend landing area, then follow a known flight path or continue toward Crystalsong Forest. The exact transport route depends on your faction and the current game state. Blizzard’s travel overview describes boats and zeppelins as general ways to travel, but it is an older overview and does not confirm a specific portal’s current availability. Other ways to get there
Ask a mage for a portal
Players can ask a mage for a portal, but specify Northrend Dalaran and verify the destination before accepting. Blizzard’s travel overview also lists mage teleportation and player summons as travel options; it does not establish current availability for any particular character.

Use the Violet Stand crystal only if you can reach it
A crystal at the Violet Stand provides a route associated with Dalaran, but the references describe a quest prerequisite and require you to reach the area another way first. It is not a dependable first-arrival method if you are still outside Northrend. The prerequisite information in Wowhead’s guide is specifically scoped to Wrath of the Lich King Classic; Warcraft Wiki’s Northrend Dalaran entry also describes the crystal.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Make sure you are going to the Northrend city
There is more than one Dalaran in World of Warcraft. The city you want is above Crystalsong Forest in Northrend. Legion Dalaran is in the Broken Isles, and the Dalaran Hearthstone described in the references is tied to that Legion-era city. Do not assume a portal or Hearthstone goes to Northrend simply because its destination is called Dalaran. Warcraft Wiki’s Dalaran overview
