If you are trying to reach Stormwind from Ironforge, take the free Deeprun Tram. The harbor and its ships belong to a later Stormwind city layout.
Does original WoW Classic have Stormwind Harbor?
No. Blizzard’s WoW Classic transportation guide, published September 19, 2019, describes the Alliance boat routes between Darkshore and Menethil Harbor, and between Menethil Harbor and Theramore. It does not list a ship route to Stormwind Harbor.
The harbor does appear in Blizzard’s Stormwind city tour, published September 16, 2019, which describes ships to Rut’theran and Northrend. That tour depicts a later city layout; it is not evidence of a harbor boat in original Classic.
How to get to Stormwind from Ironforge
- In Ironforge, go to Tinker Town and enter the Deeprun Tram station.
- Board the tram for Stormwind. Blizzard describes this connection between Ironforge and Stormwind as free.
- When you arrive, leave the Stormwind station through the Dwarven District to reach the city.
The Deeprun Tram is the documented direct connection between the two cities in original WoW Classic.

What if you are starting somewhere else?
Use the routes and flight paths your character has unlocked to connect to Ironforge or Stormwind. Blizzard’s Classic transport overview lists boats between Darkshore and Menethil Harbor, and between Menethil Harbor and Theramore; it also identifies Menethil Harbor as an Alliance flight-path destination. It does not provide a single route from every possible starting point, so the onward connection depends on your location and unlocked travel options.

These directions apply to original WoW Classic, also known as Classic Era. If you mean a particular expansion-era Classic mode, check that mode’s routes before heading for a harbor: the later Stormwind layout and original Classic transport routes are not interchangeable.
