To challenge a Fortnite ban, sign in to Epic’s Sanctions and Appeals Portal with the Epic account that received the sanction, find the case using its Sanction ID, and submit an appeal there if the option is available. Epic Player Support cannot appeal a ban for you, and an appeal does not guarantee reinstatement.
Identify what Epic restricted
“Banned” can refer to different restrictions, so check the sanction notice before deciding what to do. Epic says the notice should describe the sanction type, duration, and rule involved. Check the email linked to the affected Epic account for the notice and Sanction ID. If you cannot find an email, Epic says details may appear in Fortnite the next time you sign in.

Epic describes these sanction types in its Fortnite ban guidance. A chat restriction is not the same as a ban on playing Fortnite, and the available remedy can differ.
How to appeal a Fortnite ban
- Use the affected Epic account. Sign in to the Sanctions and Appeals Portal with the account that received the sanction. Confirm the account carefully; the case is tied to that account.
- Find the sanction. Open the case shown in the portal, or search with the Sanction ID from the email or in-game notice. Epic says the portal displays the sanction and its status and duration.
- Check whether the case is eligible. If the portal offers an appeal, follow the displayed steps to challenge the decision. Epic allows one appeal per eligible sanction. Its general guidance says appeals can be submitted during the sanction unless a longer period is required by law.
- Explain why you believe the decision is incorrect. Keep the submission relevant to the case and provide information that helps a moderator review it. Do not submit multiple appeals for the same eligible sanction.
- Follow the case in the portal and check your email. Epic says a human moderator reviews the appeal and may uphold, lift, or modify the sanction. Epic says it will notify you by email; the portal also shows status.
Epic’s Sanctions and Appeals guidance explains the review process. Epic does not promise a general response time, and reinstatement is not guaranteed.

Why the appeal option may be missing
Not every sanction is eligible for appeal. If the portal does not offer an appeal, check that you signed in to the account named in the notice and opened the correct case. If the case is correct and you have not already appealed, Epic currently advises players who cannot submit an appeal on the My Sanctions and Appeals page to try again later while it investigates the issue. That notice is a changeable support status, not a permanent rule.
Player Support cannot file or review the appeal on your behalf. Epic’s ban guidance says, “Epic Games Player Support cannot review or appeal bans on your behalf.” Use the portal’s case-specific option rather than opening a general support request to ask an agent to overturn the sanction.

What happens to Fortnite items and purchases?
Epic says content remains on the account during a temporary ban and becomes available again when the ban period ends. A permanent ban may result in loss of rights to associated V-Bucks, cosmetics, purchased games, and account balance. Epic says it does not refund purchases made before a ban for Community Rules or Terms of Service violations. See Epic’s explanation of items during and after a Fortnite ban.

Creating another Epic account to get around a permanent ban is not an appeal. Epic’s End User License Agreement says a person permanently banned after termination may not evade the ban by creating another Epic Games Account. Avoid account purchases, cheats, spoofing tools, or services that promise to bypass a sanction; they do not replace Epic’s review process.
