For Minecraft 1.19.2, use OccultCraft 5.7 with Forge 43.2.8 and the matching “OC 5.7 | Server Pack”. Install Java, extract the server pack into a clean Forge server directory, start it once to generate the EULA and launch files, then allocate at least 6 GB of RAM as recommended by the pack’s author. Every player must use the same OccultCraft release, Minecraft version, Forge loader and compatible configuration.

Which OccultCraft files and versions should you use?
OccultCraft is a fantasy and medieval Minecraft modpack built around bosses, magic, exploration, quests and multiplayer. Its project documentation describes the fifth edition as a Forge 1.19 pack. That broad label covers several Minecraft 1.19 releases, so a server specifically targeting Minecraft 1.19.2 should be built from the later OccultCraft 5.7 release rather than mixing files from another edition.

OccultCraft 5.7 is the 1.19.2 anchor
The OccultCraft 5.7 release page lists Minecraft 1.19.2 among its supported versions and identifies Forge as the mod loader. Its release notes say: “Updated to forge 43.2.8; also updated the mods to their respective latest versions.” Install that Forge version on the server and have clients use the same loader version.
Use the dedicated server distribution
CurseForge’s file index lists a file named “OC 5.7 | Server Pack”. The index reports an archive size of 702.4 MB; that is release metadata recorded in 2026 and can change if the file listing is revised. Downloading the server pack is preferable to copying a client profile because it supplies the server-oriented mods, configuration files and other files selected by the pack author.

What the host must provide
Java
A supported Java runtime is required to run Minecraft modpacks. Install Java before running the Forge installer or launch files, and verify that the host is using the intended Java executable rather than an unrelated system runtime. If your operating system offers multiple Java installations, select the one configured for the server process and use that same runtime after reboots.
Memory
The OccultCraft project owner recommends at least 6 GB of RAM for a server with the pack installed. This is a recommendation, not a benchmark or a guarantee of a particular player count. The server also needs memory for the operating system and Java itself, so do not assign every gigabyte on a small machine to the Minecraft process. Start at the recommendation, observe actual usage and adjust only when the host has enough headroom.

Storage and reliable access
Reserve room for the 702.4 MB download, the extracted files, Forge’s libraries, logs, player data, generated chunks and backups. A fresh world can grow substantially as players explore. Keep the server directory on storage that survives reboots, and use an account with permission to read, write and execute the Forge launch files.

Network and administration
A self-hosted server needs a reachable network address for the people who will connect. Configure access in server.properties, apply the host’s firewall rules and, when the server is behind a router, forward the port configured for the server to the machine running it. Test connectivity from outside the host’s local network before inviting the whole group. Only expose the service after backups and access controls are in place.
Install an OccultCraft 5.7 server step by step
1. Prepare a clean server directory
- Create a new directory used only for this server. Avoid placing it inside an existing vanilla world or another modpack installation.
- Give the directory a descriptive name such as
occultcraft-5.7-serverso that backups and launch shortcuts cannot be confused with another instance. - Install and test the supported Java runtime on the host before adding mods.
2. Download matching client and server files
- From the OccultCraft 5.7 release on CurseForge, obtain the client files for Minecraft 1.19.2.
- Download the file explicitly labeled “OC 5.7 | Server Pack” for the server.
- Confirm that both downloads refer to OccultCraft 5.7, Minecraft 1.19.2 and Forge. Do not combine the 5.7 server pack with a different OccultCraft edition.
3. Install Forge 43.2.8
- Run the Forge installer for the version named by OccultCraft 5.7: Forge 43.2.8.
- Choose the server-install option and point it at the clean server directory.
- Allow the installer to create the Forge libraries and generated launch files. The exact filenames depend on the host operating system and the installer output, so use the files Forge actually creates rather than copying a launch command from an unrelated version.
4. Extract the OccultCraft server pack
- Extract the complete “OC 5.7 | Server Pack” archive into the same server directory.
- Keep the supplied
mods,configand other pack files together. Do not substitute a client-only configuration or selectively remove files before the first start. - If the archive creates an extra nested folder, move its contents into the directory containing the Forge launch files so that Forge can find the supplied folders at startup.
5. Start once and accept the EULA
- Start the server with the Forge launch file generated by the installer. There is no single universal command published for OccultCraft; the correct command varies with the operating system and Forge installer output.
- Allow the first run to finish or stop when it reports that an EULA file has been generated.
- Open
eula.txt, read the Minecraft EULA and accept it only if you agree to its terms, following Mojang’s required setting. - Start the Forge launch file again. Watch the console for mod-loading errors and wait for the server to report that it is ready for connections before attempting to join.
6. Set the initial server configuration
- Stop the server cleanly from its console rather than closing the window or killing the process.
- Open
server.propertiesand set the world name, difficulty, player access controls and other values appropriate for your group. - Keep the supplied OccultCraft configuration files intact unless you have a specific compatibility reason to change one. Record every deliberate change so that clients can be brought into alignment.
- Create a complete backup of the stopped server directory, including the world,
mods,config, player data and properties files.
7. Allocate memory and launch for regular use
Configure the Forge launch process to provide at least 6 GB of RAM, matching the project owner’s recommendation. Leave enough physical memory for the operating system and any monitoring or backup jobs. After the first group of players joins, examine Java and system memory usage, server tick warnings and world-generation load. Increase allocation only when the host has capacity; lowering it can help a machine that is swapping, but going below the recommendation may leave too little room for the pack’s workload.
Make every client match the server
Most connection failures begin with a mismatch rather than a network problem. Give players the exact OccultCraft 5.7 client profile and require the following matches:

- Minecraft 1.19.2.
- Forge 43.2.8.
- OccultCraft 5.7, not another release or an automatically updated profile.
- The same mod set and compatible configuration files.
- The same content changes if the administrator has deliberately added or removed a mod.
Ask players to close the game completely after changing the profile. A launcher that appears to show the right pack can still retain an older instance, so verify the profile’s version details when a mismatch error persists.
Self-hosting versus a managed server
OccultCraft’s project page promotes server hosting, but no specific provider or hosting program is established here. The choice is therefore between running the instance on equipment you control and selecting a managed service that explicitly supports Forge 1.19.2.

Self-host when you want direct access to every file and already have a reliable machine. A managed service is more convenient when you need a hosted network location, automated panel tasks or assistance with routine administration, but confirm Forge 1.19.2 support and the memory policy before paying.

Opening the server safely
Configure access before publishing the address
Use server.properties to set the server’s identity and access rules. Enable a whitelist for a private group, choose an administrator account and avoid granting operator privileges to casual players. Keep the server port restricted at the firewall to the traffic you actually need.
Test locally, then externally
- Start the server and join from the host or the same local network to confirm that Forge completes loading.
- Ask a player on a different network to test the address and configured port.
- If the external test fails, check the host firewall, router forwarding, the server’s bind and port settings, and whether the internet connection uses carrier-grade NAT.
- Do not repeatedly change mods while diagnosing a connectivity problem; first establish that an unchanged installation is reachable.
Backups and recovery
Stop the server before copying a world for a consistent backup. Keep more than one generation and store at least one copy away from the game machine. Include the world, player data, server.properties, config, mods and Forge launch files. Periodically restore a backup to a separate directory so you know the archive is usable rather than merely present.
Troubleshooting common OccultCraft 5.7 failures
The server closes immediately
- Confirm that Java is installed and that the launch file points to that runtime.
- Run the Forge-generated launch file from a terminal or console so the error remains visible.
- Check that Forge 43.2.8 was installed in the directory containing the server pack.
- Review the newest log for a missing library, unreadable file or Java error before changing any mod.
Forge reports a missing or incompatible mod
- Compare the server’s
modsdirectory with the OccultCraft 5.7 server pack you downloaded. - Ensure the client is also on Minecraft 1.19.2 and Forge 43.2.8.
- Remove duplicate copies created by manually dragging mods into the folder.
- Restore the original pack from a clean extraction if files were edited during experimentation.
A player is rejected during login
Read the disconnect message and the server log together. A channel or registry mismatch usually indicates different mod versions, configurations or Minecraft/Forge versions. Have the player launch the exact OccultCraft 5.7 profile, then compare any administrator-modified configuration files. Do not solve a client mismatch by granting extra permissions or disabling access controls.

The server lags when players explore
Exploration generates new chunks and can load more entities and structures than a quiet base. Check memory pressure, CPU saturation, storage activity and the number of simultaneously exploring players. The 6 GB recommendation is a starting point, not a promised performance level. Reduce concurrent world-generation activity or move the instance to stronger hardware only after confirming which resource is saturated.

- Stop the server and restore the most recent known-good backup.
- Record the exact OccultCraft, Forge and mod versions in the failed installation.
- Test the update on a copy of the world, never the only production save.
- Require clients to install the same tested combination before deploying it to the live server.
Operating the server after launch
Keep a version record
Write down OccultCraft 5.7, Minecraft 1.19.2, Forge 43.2.8, Java version, configuration edits and the date of each backup. This short inventory makes it possible to reproduce a working installation and quickly identify an accidental mismatch.
Schedule maintenance
Announce restarts, stop the server cleanly, back up the world and then apply one change at a time. Avoid replacing the modpack while players are online. After a restart, watch the console until all mods finish loading and perform a test login before declaring the maintenance complete.
Control access
Use the whitelist for a private community, assign operator status sparingly and review the player list periodically. Keep administrative commands in a written record so another trusted administrator can recover the server without guessing which settings were changed.

The OccultCraft project documentation establishes the Forge-based 1.19 lineage and recommends at least 6 GB of RAM. OccultCraft 5.7’s release notes establish Minecraft 1.19.2 support and Forge 43.2.8, while CurseForge lists a dedicated 5.7 server pack. The available documentation does not publish an official universal startup command, an independent performance benchmark, or a guaranteed player capacity. Treat hardware, player count and launch syntax as host-specific variables, and rely on the generated Forge files and measured behavior of your own instance.
