Improve mouse sensitivity in Marvel Rivals by holding your mouse DPI steady, testing your current in-game setting with the same practice exercise, and changing one thing at a time. There is no demonstrated best number for every player: the right setting balances precise corrections against comfortable turning speed and depends on your mouse, available desk space, and aiming habits.
What mouse sensitivity changes
DPI and the game’s sensitivity setting work together to determine how far your aim moves on screen when you move your mouse. A common way to compare their combined effect is eDPI: DPI multiplied by in-game sensitivity. For example, Game Truth’s illustrative calculation says 800 DPI at 5 in-game sensitivity gives 4,000 eDPI; 1,600 DPI at 2.5 gives the same product. That arithmetic example is not a recommended setting or a benchmark (Game Truth, January 19, 2026).

Lower sensitivity can make small corrections and steady tracking feel more controlled, but a wide turn requires a larger mouse movement. Higher sensitivity makes quick turns and close-range reorientation easier, but can make fine corrections harder to control. Neither end is automatically better.

A repeatable way to tune your setting
- Fix your mouse DPI. Choose a DPI you can comfortably use and keep it unchanged while tuning. If your mouse software has profiles, check that the active one will not switch unexpectedly. There is no required DPI value established for Marvel Rivals.
- Record your current in-game sensitivity. Start with the setting you already use, or a conservative baseline you can evaluate. Use the live game’s mouse settings; a verified current menu path, slider range, or official numerical recommendation is not established here.
- Test a familiar hero in the practice range. Repeat a simple exercise involving controlled tracking and transitions between targets. Notice whether you overshoot, undershoot, or struggle to turn far enough without an uncomfortable swipe.
- Change only in-game sensitivity, in a small step. If small corrections overshoot, try lowering it. If turning or tracking feels uncomfortably slow, try raising it. Keep DPI fixed so you can tell what the adjustment changed.
- Repeat the same exercise and compare. Use the same hero and similar movements after each adjustment. Keep the setting that improves the problem you identified without creating a worse one.
- Give a promising setting time. MetaBot.GG advises practicing with a setting for several days before judging it. Treat that as practical guidance, not a scientifically established adaptation period (MetaBot.GG, published July 25, 2026; updated July 28, 2026).
Choose a balance that fits your aim and space
If your aim overshoots
Lower sensitivity slightly and repeat the same controlled tracking and target-transition exercise. Focus on whether small corrections become easier; do not also change DPI, since changing both at once makes the result harder to interpret.

If turning feels too slow
Raise sensitivity cautiously and retest. The goal is not to maximize turning speed, but to make reorientation possible without losing control over smaller movements.
If you use lower sensitivity
A wide swipe needs enough clear desk or mouse-pad space. A small surface can limit how far you can move the mouse, so account for that constraint before deciding that lower sensitivity is workable. A larger pad is optional, not a requirement or a guaranteed way to improve aim.

Use one base setting before trying hero-specific changes
Start with one consistent setting across heroes. A stable base makes practice easier to compare and helps you build a predictable relationship between hand movement and aim. If a specific hero or role still presents a clear handling problem, test a modest adjustment for that reason rather than changing settings by habit. Guides differ on whether to use hero-specific values, so this is a personal tuning choice, not a settled rule.

No independently sourced population benchmark or official best sensitivity figure is established. MetaBot.GG suggests 800 DPI and a 30–50 cm full-turn range as editorial starting ideas, not universal or official recommendations. Your mouse, available movement space, and preferred balance of precision and turning speed can produce a different suitable result. Avoid treating another player’s number as proof that your own setting is wrong.

Keep mouse tuning within the game’s rules
Changing native mouse sensitivity is distinct from using an adapter to make keyboard and mouse imitate controller input. In its January 13, 2025 statement, the Marvel Rivals team warned that such adapters can create an unfair advantage, citing “harnessing high sensitivity with the aim-assist features” as an example. The statement says penalties may include temporary or permanent suspensions, leaderboard removal, or other punishments depending on the circumstances (Marvel Rivals, Keyboard and Mouse Adapters Statement). This warning concerns controller-emulating adapters, not ordinary adjustments to native mouse settings.
