They must open that link and log in to the game before the invitation counts and the person is added to your Friend List. After you are friends, Summon brings them to your location, while Follow takes you to theirs. For a shared minigame, form a Play Group, select Game Party, and choose Play.
What each Play Together option does
Play Together has separate tools for becoming friends, meeting in the same location, and entering a competitive minigame. Choosing the right one prevents the most common misunderstanding: an invitation link creates the friendship connection, but it does not by itself place both players in the same activity. Once the friendship exists, you can move between locations with Summon or Follow. To play Game Party, you use a Play Group instead of either movement command.

The official help describes the invitation feature as a way to invite real-life friends to the game and play with them. Friendship is established either through Friend Request or Invite Friend; these are two different starting routes to the same Friend List relationship.
How to invite a friend with a URL
1. Open the Phone menu
From your current screen, open the in-game Phone menu. The invitation command is located inside the Friends section, not in the Game Party controls.

2. Select Friends, then Invite Friend
Choose Friends > Invite Friend. The game generates an invitation URL for you. Use the exact link generated in this screen rather than trying to construct one manually.
3. Copy and send the generated URL
Copy the URL and send it through the messaging app you normally use with the person. The official friendship instructions summarize the route as “Phone > Friends > Invite Friend > Give your friend the URL!” The link is the handoff between your game and your friend’s account.
4. Have the recipient open the link
Your friend must open the invitation URL and access Play Together through it. Sending the link is not enough. The recipient has to follow it into the game so the system can associate that account with your invitation.

5. Make sure the recipient logs in
The invitation count rises only when the invited friend logs in. The same login step is what allows the player to be registered on your Friend List after accessing the game through the link. If your friend opened the URL but did not complete login, treat the process as unfinished and have them open the link again and sign in.
6. Confirm the friendship in Friends
After the recipient has accessed the game through the link and logged in, check the Friends area for the new player. Once the person appears as a friend, you can use Summon, Follow, and Play Group features that require an existing friendship.
How to send a Friend Request without an invitation link
If the other player is already visible in the game, you can begin from their character instead of creating a URL.

Request from the player’s character
- Tap the other player’s character.
- Choose Friend Request.
- Wait for the friendship connection to be established before attempting friend-only actions.
Request through the Friends plaza list
You can also use Phone > Friends > Plaza to send a request. This route is useful when you know the player is in the plaza but do not want to select the character directly. The official help identifies both tapping a character and the Plaza list as supported ways to send a Friend Request.

Use an invitation URL when you are bringing someone from outside the game into Play Together. Use Friend Request when the person is already present and selectable in the game. Both methods are intended to create the friendship needed for the later movement and group commands.
How to join a friend’s location
Once the two accounts are friends, Play Together offers two opposite movement commands. Decide who should move before selecting one: Summon moves the other player to you; Follow moves you to the other player.
Use Summon to bring your friend to you
- Open Phone.
- Choose Friends > Summon.
- Select the friend you want to ask to move to your location.
Summon is friend-only. It is the correct choice when you are already in a location and want your friend to join you there. It does not take you to the friend; it asks the friend to come to your current location.
Use Follow to go to your friend
- Open Phone.
- Choose Friends > Follow.
- Select the friend whose location you want to join.
You can also tap the friend’s character and choose Follow. Like Summon, Follow is available only between existing friends. Choose it when the other player is already where you want to be and you are the one who should move.

How to play Game Party with friends
Game Party co-play uses a Play Group. It is not started with Summon or Follow. Those commands place players together; the Play Group sequence places the group into the Game Party activity.

Use the official Play Group sequence
- Form a Play Group with your Friends.
- Choose Game Party from the group’s activity options.
- Select Play.
The official help gives the sequence exactly as “Form Play Group > Game Party > Play” and states that Friends can enjoy Game Party through Play Group. Make sure the people you want to include are already recognized as Friends before forming the group.
Open Game Party from the Plaza
If you are starting from the world rather than the Phone menu, go to Plaza > Game Center. Game Center is the Plaza entry point for the game activities, including Game Party.
Open Game Party from the Phone
You can also use Phone > Play Game > Game Party. This direct route is useful when you are already navigating the Phone and do not want to travel through the Plaza menu.
If Game Center is difficult to locate
Use the map to locate Game Center. The official guide specifically recommends the map when you cannot find the Game Center location in the Plaza. This is a navigation step; it does not replace the Play Group requirement for playing with Friends.
What happens inside Game Party
The official Play Together Game Guide (2026) describes Game Party as a minigame tournament for 30 players. Players compete to be the last player standing across races, obstacle races, survival rounds, and other minigames. The 30-player figure is the published rule for the Game Party format; it is not a claim about the number of people currently online or the number of friends in your own group.
That distinction matters when planning a session. Your friends enter through the Play Group flow, while the Game Party itself is the tournament activity described in the guide. The activity can therefore involve the wider 30-player format even when you begin by grouping with a smaller set of Friends.

Which route should you use?
You have not connected with the person in Play Together
Use Phone > Friends > Invite Friend, send the URL, and have the recipient open it and log in. This is the route designed for a real-life friend who is not yet on your Friend List.

Tap the character and choose Friend Request, or open Phone > Friends > Plaza and send the request there. There is no need to send an external invitation URL when the player is already available through these in-game controls.
You want to meet at your current location
After friendship is established, choose Summon. It directs the other player toward you.
You want to travel to the other player
After friendship is established, choose Follow from the Friends menu or from the friend’s character. It directs you toward the other player.
You want a shared minigame rather than a meeting spot
Form a Play Group, select Game Party, and press Play. If you are looking for the activity’s location, use Plaza > Game Center or Phone > Play Game > Game Party.

Troubleshooting the invitation and friendship flow
The invitation count did not increase
Check the recipient’s side of the process first. The count rises only when the invited friend logs in, so opening or receiving the URL alone does not complete the requirement. Ask the friend to open the generated link, access the game through it, and finish logging in.

The invited player is not on your Friend List
Confirm that the person used the invitation URL to access the game rather than entering by an unrelated route. The official help ties Friend List registration to accessing the game through the link. After login, reopen the Friends area and check for the player.
Summon is unavailable
Summon works only among Friends. If the player is still merely an invited contact or an unaccepted request, complete the friendship process first. Once the person is on your Friend List, return to Phone > Friends > Summon.
Follow is unavailable
Follow also requires an existing friendship. Confirm that the other player is registered as a Friend, then use Phone > Friends > Follow or tap the friend’s character and select Follow.
You cannot find the Game Party entry
Try either documented entry point: Plaza > Game Center or Phone > Play Game > Game Party. When Game Center is hard to locate in the Plaza, use the map. If your goal is to play with Friends, remember that opening the activity is separate from forming the required Play Group.
The group is together but Game Party does not start
Use the activity sequence rather than a movement command: form the Play Group, choose Game Party, and select Play. Summon and Follow only change where players are located; they are not the documented launch path for Game Party.

- Game Party co-play is organized through Play Group, not through the location movement commands.
- The 2026 official guide describes Game Party as a 30-player tournament with races, obstacle races, survival, and other minigames.
