To invite an Xbox friend from Rainbow Six Siege on PC, open the Ubisoft Connect Social overlay, find them in your friends list, and send a squad invite. If they are not listed, add them through Ubisoft Connect friend management; the Xbox and Ubisoft accounts need to be linked for the Xbox player to be searchable. If they cannot join, check that cross-play is enabled on their console.
Invite your Xbox friend from PC
- Open the Ubisoft Connect Social overlay. Use its friends list to find your Xbox friend. Ubisoft identifies this Social tab as a place to access friends and manage Siege invites in its Y7S4 Crossplay Update. Ubisoft does not specify a current keyboard shortcut there.
- Send the squad invitation from the overlay. Ubisoft also says first-party platform tools can be used to send invitations.
If your Xbox friend is missing
In Ubisoft Connect friend management, search for the player’s username and send a friend invitation. Ubisoft says console friends can be found this way when their console account and Ubisoft account are linked. Check that the Xbox player has linked the accounts if the search does not find them. If your Xbox friend cannot join
Check the console cross-play setting
Rainbow Six Siege cross-play is enabled by default on PC and cannot be turned off there; on consoles it is disabled by default. Ask your friend to check Siege’s Crossplay Matchmaking setting under Options > General, as well as their Xbox cross-play settings. Ubisoft’s cross-play support guidance describes the current settings. These checks may help, but they do not account for every reason a connection or invitation might fail.
Know which matchmaking pool applies
Ubisoft’s November 23, 2022 cross-play announcement says PC and streaming-platform players are in a separate matchmaking pool from console players. Ubisoft’s current support article also documents a specific exception: console players can join PC matchmaking for Ranked games, and their PC rank is separate from their console rank. This is not a general statement that every PC-console matchmaking mode works the same way; see Ubisoft’s cross-play guidance.

Cross-progression is a separate feature
Cross-progression concerns saved-game access and content, not sending a squad invite. Ubisoft says access to saved progress on another platform requires using the same linked Ubisoft account, and not all content carries over. Details are in Ubisoft’s cross-progression support article.
