If you mean joining a friend’s current Roblox game, search for their username or open their profile and select Join Experience if Roblox displays it. The option depends on the other player’s privacy settings, whether they are in an experience, and your permission to join. Roblox does not provide an unrestricted tool to track someone across games or reveal their precise physical location.
How to join someone who is playing Roblox
- Search Roblox for the player’s username, or open their profile.
- If they are in an experience and allow others to follow them, look for Join Experience in the search results or on their profile. Roblox describes this feature in its guide to following or joining another player in experiences.
- Select the join option. You can enter only if you have the permissions required for that experience.
Why “Join Experience” may not appear
The player may not currently be in an experience, may have settings that prevent others from joining, or the experience may not allow you to enter. Roblox also lets users control who can see their online status and current experience. Available visibility options can vary by age and region; see Roblox’s Online Status and Visibility settings.
What Roblox does—and does not—let you see
| Information or action | What it means |
|---|---|
| Online status | Whether someone appears online, subject to their visibility settings. |
| Current experience and joining | You may see the experience or be able to join when the player’s settings and your permissions allow it. |
| Account location | Roblox describes this as an estimated general region based on device signals such as IP address, not a player’s precise physical location. See Roblox’s account-location explanation. |
These are distinct things: a join option is about entering an experience, while account location is a general regional estimate. Neither gives you a way to locate someone in the real world.
Respect privacy and avoid tracking tools
Roblox’s Creator Third Party App Policy prohibits tracking Roblox users across experiences except for the limited purposes of moderating or improving a creator’s own experience. It also prohibits third-party tracking services or products used to track or profile Roblox users. Use Roblox’s built-in join feature rather than a site or extension claiming to secretly locate a player.
