To join a friend in Farming Simulator 25, open Multiplayer from the main menu, choose Join game, find their session, and install any required mods or downloadable content shown in its details. Then select the session to join. The exact invite and friend-finding controls can differ by platform, so use the session list rather than assuming every system has the same invite flow.
Join a friend’s session
- Start Farming Simulator 25 and open Multiplayer from the main menu.
- Select Join game. The game lists existing sessions that players can join.
- Find your friend’s session and open its details. Check the required mods and any required DLC.
- If content is missing, open the game’s Downloadable Content area and install the required mods through the in-game ModHub. Return to the session list afterward.
- Select the session to join.
The official Farming Simulator 25 manual describes this join-and-check flow. It does not specify one universal friend-code or invite-by-name procedure, so the available way to locate or invite a friend may depend on the platform’s current interface.

What needs to match for multiplayer?
Mods, downloadable content, and game version
Install the mods used by the session you want to join. GIANTS Software support also advises matching the server’s game version and having its required mods and DLC. If you cannot enter a session, check these before changing network settings.
Cross-platform compatibility
The manual says, “Most systems support cross-platform multiplayer.” That is not a full list of supported platform pairings. Check that the platforms involved support the pairing you want and that the relevant settings permit it; do not assume that every system uses an identical crossplay toggle or invitation process.

Session player limit
SEGA’s official Farming Simulator 25 page says up to 16 players can join online, but does not specify the platform or session configuration behind that figure. Check the host’s in-game settings for the limit available to that session.
If your friend’s game does not appear or you cannot connect
- Check the session details: install the listed mods and verify required DLC.
- Check versions: make sure your game version is compatible with the server’s version, as well as its required content.
- Check your connection: GIANTS warns that mobile hotspots and public Wi-Fi can cause connection problems.
- Check network interference: a VPN, proxy, router, or firewall may prevent a connection.
- If you are hosting: verify that the server is configured and running and that the router or firewall is not blocking the relevant traffic. GIANTS lists UDP ports 10823, 10824, and 10825 for port-forwarding checks. These are troubleshooting values for relevant network setups, not steps every player needs to perform.
If the problem continues, contact GIANTS Software support with your platform, the exact error message, and the game’s log.txt file. On Xbox, the store listing says console online play requires an eligible Xbox Game Pass subscription; that requirement is specific to Xbox and should not be assumed for other platforms. How to host a session for friends
