If you want a dedicated grind, a Maintenance Tunnels vehicle loop is repeatable; after unlocking Overtime Mode, a soldier route offers a concentrated but riskier option. No single method is fastest for every run: your level, books, equipment, and game mode matter.
What earns PP in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster?
PP is the progression currency used to level Frank. The guides covered here identify photography, zombie kills, survivor rescues, and story progress as ways to earn it. For ordinary play, the most useful approach is to build PP into activities you are already doing instead of abandoning cases to grind.
How to level up quickly during a normal run
Photograph crowds, not just individual zombies
Photos can deliver a large PP burst when many targets fit in the frame. Insider Gaming highlights the elevator leading to the warehouse and the lake outside the Food Court as useful places to find dense groups. These are guide-recommended opportunities, not guaranteed PP totals for every photo.
Rescue survivors when the timing works
Survivor rescues can provide substantial PP, but they are time-sensitive: survivors may die if Frank arrives too late or cannot protect them. Respond to radio calls when the route and case schedule allow, rather than treating every rescue as an obligation regardless of timing. Insider Gaming reports rescues can yield tens of thousands of PP; the actual reward depends on the rescue.

How to farm PP with vehicles in the Maintenance Tunnels
GamingBolt describes a repeatable vehicle loop for players willing to trade variety and case progress for focused zombie kills. The route begins with the convertible in Public Parking, then cycles through vehicles in the Maintenance Tunnels to run over groups of zombies. Use an area transition to reset the vehicles to their original locations and repeat.
- Collect Horror Novel 1 and Horror Novel 2 first if you plan to focus on zombie PP; GamingBolt reports their combined bonus as 50%.
- Start with the convertible in Public Parking, then continue through available vehicles in the Maintenance Tunnels, targeting dense zombie groups.
- Use a loading transition to refresh the vehicles, then repeat the circuit.
This is a deliberate, repetitive grind. It can pull Frank away from cases and time-sensitive survivor rescues, so it suits a focused farming session better than a run where you are trying to keep every opportunity open.

Is the Overtime Mode soldier route worth it?
Once Overtime Mode is unlocked, Gameranx describes farming Special Forces soldiers in the Paradise Plaza Warehouse. The guide reports eight soldiers in four groups, at 5,000 PP per soldier—40,000 PP for clearing all eight. These are route figures reported by Gameranx, not independently tested totals.
The route is dangerous for an underpowered Frank: Gameranx warns that soldiers can stun-lock him and recommends waiting until the high 30s or low 40s. It suggests using suitable grapples, machine guns or rocket launchers, healing items, and dodge rolls. The concentrated PP reward may appeal late in progression, but the combat risk makes it a poor substitute for safer exploration when Frank is not ready.

Which leveling method should you choose?

For most runs, prioritize crowds for photos, useful survivor calls, and books that suit your route. Switch to vehicle farming when you want repetition, or consider the soldier route only when Overtime Mode is available and Frank can handle the fights.

PowerPyx reports that reaching level 50 requires 5,000,000 PP. Its trophy guide also says New Game+ carries over Frank’s levels, stats, and unlocks from a previous save, so progression can continue across runs rather than requiring all of the leveling in one playthrough. PowerPyx additionally reports 100 PP Stickers around the mall, each worth up to 5,000 PP when photographed; that is a possible per-sticker maximum, not a promise that every sticker photo awards the maximum.
