Roblox’s official guides explain Studio’s general building and publishing tools; they do not provide a way to edit the official Brookhaven experience.
Start a new Roblox Studio experience
Open Roblox Studio and create a new experience using the Baseplate template or another starting template that suits your project. Roblox’s experience overview describes Studio as an all-in-one creation environment, while its core curriculum uses Baseplate for a sample project.
Think of the project as your own roleplay map, not a copy of Brookhaven. Plan a small set of recognizable town spaces—such as streets, houses, and a public area—and make them easy for players to move between.
Plan the map before adding detail
Decide where the main road, side streets, building lots, public spaces, and player spawn points should go. Then greybox the layout: use simple blocks and other basic geometry to represent roads, walls, buildings, and landmarks. Walk through the map in a test session and adjust the scale or spacing before spending time on decoration.

This order follows Roblox’s curriculum, which treats greyboxing as a stage before gameplay scripting and polish. A readable layout gives you a better basis for deciding where detailed houses, props, and interactions belong.
Choose terrain or parts for each area
Use parts when you need precise shapes and placement, such as straight roads, building walls, sidewalks, and props. Use terrain for natural outdoor forms such as hills or uneven ground. Roblox’s terrain guide covers terrain generation, editing, and materials; it also describes importing heightmaps and optional colormaps.

For a guided terrain workflow, follow Roblox’s Create an environment with terrain tutorial. Keep roads and building entrances legible where terrain meets constructed parts so players can tell where they can walk.
Build houses and organize the project
Create buildings from parts or use suitable creator assets, then arrange them on the lots you planned. Studio’s panels help you keep the project manageable:

- Explorer: locate and organize objects and services in the experience.
- Properties: adjust settings for the selected object.
- Toolbox: find assets to use in the project.
- Asset Manager: manage imported assets.
- Output: inspect messages and errors when something does not work as expected.
Roblox explains these tools in its 3D art and Studio overview. Review any asset before using it, and keep the visual style consistent across houses, roads, and public spaces.
Add interactions and test them
Decide which interactions improve the roleplay experience, such as opening a door or entering a building. Add scripts only where the project needs behavior; the Roblox core curriculum introduces gameplay scripting, but the official guides cited here do not provide Brookhaven-specific interaction instructions.

Use Studio playtesting to check both behavior and movement through the town. Try the routes a player is likely to take: spawn, reach a house, enter it, and travel to another destination. Fix awkward gaps, blocked paths, or interactions that fail, then test again. Roblox’s terrain tutorial also uses playtesting to evaluate how an environment feels.

When the map is ready, publish it from Studio using the publishing workflow in that guide. Newly created experiences are private by default, so publishing does not automatically make the experience public; choose its release and access settings deliberately.
Keep the project original
Roblox’s general Studio documentation does not establish that you may copy Brookhaven’s map, assets, or branding, or explain how to modify the official experience. Treat your work as an original town inspired by the roleplay genre, and do not imply that it is official or that copying protected materials is authorized.
