To make a League of Legends playlist, search Spotify or YouTube Music for official Riot Games Music releases, create a new playlist, and add the tracks you want. Start with Spotify’s Official League of Legends hub if it is available in your region; on either service, you can also search by song, artist, champion, virtual group, or release title. Then arrange the list around a listening goal such as champion themes, Worlds anthems, or relaxed Sessions tracks.

Streaming a song for your own listening is different from using it in a video or livestream. Riot’s creator-safe designation applies only to specifically listed music and comes with conditions, so a song’s presence in an official catalog does not automatically grant reuse rights.

What official League of Legends music can you find?

Riot’s catalog is much broader than a single game soundtrack. It includes champion and regional themes, cinematic songs, virtual artists, collaborations, esports anthems, orchestral pieces, and the Sessions series. Riot’s 2019 music retrospective said more than 200 songs were available across streaming platforms at that time. That is a historical figure, not a current catalog count, and releases can be added, replaced, restricted, or removed.

Category What to search for Good playlist use
Champion and region themes A champion name, region, or theme title Instrumental or character-focused listening
Virtual artists and collaborations The group, featured artist, or individual track Vocal tracks and pop, hip-hop, or electronic sets
Worlds and esports releases “Worlds,” the event year, or an anthem title High-energy gaming, workouts, and match-day playlists
Sessions “Riot Games Sessions” plus the release name Low-distraction background music
Mixed League favorites Any official Riot Games Music result A personal listening list ordered by mood rather than lore

Spotify and Riot announced an official League of Legends audio hub and curated playlists in 2020. Spotify reported more than 4.8 million monthly listeners for the official League soundtrack at the time of that announcement; that audience figure is also historical. YouTube Music may carry many of the same official releases, but neither the announcement nor Riot’s older catalog description guarantees identical availability in every country today.

Should you use Spotify or YouTube Music?

Choose the service that fits your existing devices and listening habits. Spotify has the clearest documented Riot partnership and an Official League of Legends hub. YouTube Music is useful when you already keep music in Google’s ecosystem and want to search official Riot uploads alongside other music. The current catalog, interface labels, and regional rights can change, so compare what you can actually play in your account.

Consideration Spotify YouTube Music
Finding official League material Look for the Official League of Legends hub, Riot Games Music artist pages, playlists, and individual releases. Search for official Riot Games Music uploads, then verify the artist and release information shown for each result.
Creating and editing Use the current New playlist and Add to playlist controls; labels can differ between mobile and desktop. Use the current playlist-creation and Save/Add-to-playlist controls; exact wording can differ by app version.
Catalog consistency Spotify’s historical partnership does not promise that every Riot track remains available in every territory. Riot’s historical multi-service distribution does not promise a complete or identical YouTube Music catalog.
Best practical choice Convenient if you already follow Spotify playlists or want the announced League hub. Convenient if YouTube Music is your main player or you want to search official music and music videos in one place.

Do not describe either service as having the larger current League catalog without checking your country and account. A release can be visible in search but unavailable for playback, or appear under more than one version.

How do you make the playlist in Spotify?

The controls are similar on the desktop and mobile apps, although button names and locations change. The reliable process is to create an empty playlist first, then add verified official tracks one at a time.

  1. Open Spotify and create a playlist. In Your Library, choose the control for creating a playlist, then enter a name that identifies its purpose, such as LoL Worlds Warm-Up or Runeterra Instrumentals.
  2. Find the official source. Search for Riot Games Music, League of Legends, a champion, or a known release. Open the artist, album, or playlist result and check the displayed artist and release details before adding anything.
  3. Add a track. Open the track’s More options menu and choose the command that adds it to a playlist. Select the new playlist. Repeat from an album, search result, or artist page.
  4. Check for alternate versions. Search results may include an original, instrumental, live, remix, or duplicate upload. Select the version that matches your intended mood and keep the release name visible in the playlist.
  5. Open the playlist and reorder it. On the playlist page, use the current edit or drag-and-drop control to move tracks. Put the desired opening song first, group similar energy levels, and use a calm track as a transition when switching from anthems to background music.
  6. Set visibility and sharing. Use Spotify’s current privacy or sharing option if you want the list private, collaborative, or publicly viewable. A public playlist shares your selection; it does not change the copyright status of the songs.

Spotify’s own League hub can be a faster starting point than a broad search. Follow the hub or a useful official playlist if you want future additions to be easier to notice, but copy tracks into your personal list when you need a fixed order.

How do you make the playlist in YouTube Music?

YouTube Music uses the same basic workflow but may expose separate audio and video results. Search first, verify the uploader and release information, and then save the chosen version to a new playlist.

  1. Open YouTube Music and start a playlist. Use the Library area or the current Save/Create playlist command. Give the playlist a name that distinguishes it from unrelated League or gaming mixes.
  2. Search official releases. Enter Riot Games Music, the track title, the champion, or the release name. Prefer an official artist or Riot-associated release entry over an unverified fan upload.
  3. Save the track. Open the track’s options menu and choose the command for saving or adding it to a playlist. Select the playlist you just created.
  4. Repeat from albums and search results. Adding from an album can be faster, but inspect the track list so you do not import an entire release when you only want selected songs.
  5. Edit the order. Open the playlist in Library, enter its edit mode, and move tracks into the sequence you want. If the app offers both audio and video versions, keep the one that behaves correctly for your listening setup.
  6. Review playback. Play several tracks before sharing. A search result can remain visible after its playback rights change, and a release may be unavailable in your country.

YouTube Music’s labels and layout are not established as fixed across current app versions, so follow the equivalent create, save, add, and reorder controls rather than relying on an old screenshot or a single exact button name.

How should you choose a playlist theme?

A theme prevents a long catalog from becoming an unstructured dump of songs. Decide whether the list is for lore, energy, vocals, concentration, or a particular event, then search within that boundary.

Champion or region themes

Search a champion, faction, or region and collect its official themes and closely related tracks. These lists work well when you want instrumental music or a character-focused atmosphere. Keep the naming consistent—for example, include the champion and whether a track is an original theme or a later arrangement.

Virtual artists and collaborations

Build around a virtual group, featured artist, or collaboration rather than a single game location. This creates a vocal-forward playlist that can sit alongside ordinary music playlists. Use the displayed release credits to distinguish an official collaboration from a similarly titled fan upload.

Worlds and esports energy

Search for Worlds, the event year, and anthem titles. Put the most immediate chorus or highest-energy track near the beginning, then alternate intense songs with short instrumental breaks. Because event releases are tied to particular years, include the year in the playlist description so you can tell editions apart later.

Sessions for background listening

Riot describes Sessions as music developed in partnership with musicians for use in content under its posted guidelines. The collection is a practical starting point for studying, working, or long gaming sessions because it emphasizes a background-listening role. One listed example, Star Guardian Taliyah Sessions, is described on Riot’s Sessions page as a 29-track album.

A mixed personal favorites list

For a general League playlist, divide the sequence into chapters: a welcoming opener, a vocal or anthem section, champion and orchestral material, then lower-intensity tracks. Write a short description naming the categories you included; that makes future maintenance easier when you add a new release.

How do you order and maintain the playlist?

Ordering determines whether the playlist feels intentional. Treat it as a listening sequence rather than a storage folder.

  • Choose an opening mood. Start with a recognizable theme, a measured instrumental, or an anthem depending on the playlist’s purpose.
  • Control energy changes. Avoid placing several very loud or similarly structured tracks together unless that is intentional. Use instrumentals as bridges between vocal sections.
  • Keep versions distinct. If you include an original and a remix, label the difference in the description or playlist notes so you do not accidentally remove the version you wanted.
  • Use a stable naming pattern. Include “League,” the theme, and—where useful—the Worlds year or Sessions release name.
  • Revisit after new releases. Check official Riot Games Music pages and the service’s League hub or search results periodically. Add new tracks only after confirming that they fit the playlist’s purpose.
  • Do not promise completeness. Platform catalogs, licensing territories, and availability change. A personal playlist should be described as a selection, not every Riot release.

If a track disappears, do not immediately replace it with the first similarly titled upload. Search the official artist or album page again, check whether another authorized version is available, and note the replacement in your own playlist description.

Why can a song be missing or unavailable?

Availability is controlled by platform and territory rights, not just by whether Riot once released a song. Historical statements that Riot distributed music on Spotify and YouTube support searching those services, but they do not guarantee that every item is still present or playable everywhere.

The result appears but will not play

Try opening the album or artist page rather than the search preview. A region-restricted, removed, or replaced release can leave a stale search entry. If another official version is playable, add that version and record its exact title.

You find several uploads with the same name

Compare the artist field, album, artwork, and release context. Prefer the official Riot Games Music or authorized artist listing. Fan uploads can disappear without notice and may not represent the master recording you intended.

A playlist works for one person but not another

That usually indicates different territory rights, account settings, or a changed release rather than a playlist error. Ask the other listener to search for the track in their own account and substitute an available official version where necessary.

The service changes its controls

Mobile and desktop clients can place Create, Save, Add to playlist, Edit, and Reorder in different menus. Use the current equivalent action instead of relying on a guide written for an earlier app version.

Can you use League music in a stream or video?

Not automatically. A personal Spotify or YouTube Music playlist is a listening arrangement; it is not a synchronization, broadcast, or monetization license. Riot’s Creator-Safe guidance identifies a narrower set of music that players may use in player-created content and streams under the posted terms.

Riot’s policy says it designates a song as creator-safe only when players are enabled to use it in player-created content and monetize that content in accordance with the guidelines. The policy links to a Riot Games Creator-Safe Playlist on Spotify and a League of Legends Creator-Safe Playlist on SoundCloud. Treat those designated lists—and the written rules that accompany them—as the starting point for reuse decisions.

Rank #4
Arcane Soundtrack (Season 1 Season 2)
  • Arcane Season 1 Pink + Black Splatter Exclusive LP (Official Soundtrack)
  • Arcane Season 2 Denim + Glacial + Yellow Splatter Exclusive LP (Official Soundtrack)

Riot also explains that music outside the creator-safe playlist generally requires permission or a license. External rights holders may be involved, so the fact that Riot published or distributed a track does not settle every right. Riot prohibits creators from claiming creator-safe audio through Content ID or similar systems. Read the current guidelines again before publishing because the eligible songs and conditions can change.

What about Sessions?

Sessions is a useful category for background listening, and Riot describes it as music developed with musicians that people can use in content without concern of copyright strikes under the posted guidelines. That statement does not turn every other Riot release into creator-safe music. Check the current Sessions and creator-safe terms for the specific track and intended use.

Is there a physical League soundtrack?

There has been a collector-oriented vinyl edition. Riot’s 2019 retrospective described an edition containing 26 orchestral works and named iam8bit as a source. That announcement does not establish current stock, price, seller authenticity, or marketplace availability, so treat “League of Legends soundtrack vinyl” as a historical collector search and verify the exact edition before buying.

What is the fastest reliable workflow?

  1. Pick Spotify or YouTube Music based on the service you already use.
  2. Search Riot Games Music and the specific track, champion, artist, or release.
  3. Verify the artist and album details, especially when duplicate uploads appear.
  4. Create a playlist with a purpose and recognizable name.
  5. Add selected tracks rather than assuming an entire search result is official or appropriate.
  6. Arrange the order around energy, vocals, instrumentals, or a lore theme.
  7. Play several tracks to catch regional or removed-item problems.
  8. Share the playlist only as a listening list unless every reused song meets Riot’s current creator-safe conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does making a public playlist give me permission to use the songs elsewhere?

No. Public visibility only lets other listeners see your selection; it does not grant synchronization, broadcast, or monetization rights. Treat playlist creation and content reuse as separate decisions.

Why do two League playlists show different versions of the same song?

Services can list an original recording, instrumental, remix, live version, or replacement release under similar wording. Compare the album, artist, artwork, and duration, then choose the version that is playable in your account.

Can one League playlist stay identical on Spotify and YouTube Music?

Each service stores its own playlist and may have different regional rights or release IDs. You can recreate the sequence manually, but a song available on one service may need an alternative—or may be unavailable—on the other.

Is a fan-uploaded League track safe to include in a creator playlist?

A fan upload is not proof of authorization or creator-safe status. Use the official artist or release listing when possible, and consult Riot’s current creator-safe designation before putting any track in monetized content.
