To make the Bad Dreams Cruller in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, use 3 Hyper Tanga Berries, 3 Hyper Kasib Berries, 1 Hyper Coba Berry, and 1 Hyper Yache Berry. This combination reaches every required flavor threshold. You must also have the Mega Dimension DLC, finish the main story, unlock the objective during Hyperspace Lumiose Survey No. 6, and have access to eight-ingredient donut capacity.

The finished Cruller provides these flavor totals:

These are minimum thresholds, not exact targets. A recipe is valid whenever all five flavors meet or exceed their requirements.

Prerequisites
- Own the Mega Dimension DLC.
- Complete the main story. Nintendo notes that the DLC story cannot progress until the main story is finished: Nintendo support.
- Progress through Hyperspace Lumiose Survey No. 6 until Corbeau gives you the Bad Dreams Cruller objective and the special ingredient Épice Noire.
- Unlock enough donut capacity to use eight Berries. Capacity expands as you progress through the DLC.
Épice Noire is supplied during the story sequence. It is not a Berry that you need to find or add separately.

Exact steps to make it
- Continue Hyperspace Lumiose Survey No. 6 until Corbeau gives you the Cruller requirements and Épice Noire.
- Return to Hotel Z.
- Speak to Ansha at her donut shop.
- Choose “I’d like to try that Cruller recipe.” Do not choose the ordinary “I’d like to make a donut.” option.
- Add three Hyper Tanga Berries, three Hyper Kasib Berries, one Hyper Coba Berry, and one Hyper Yache Berry.
- Check the five flavor indicators. Every flavor must display its completion mark.
- Confirm the recipe.
- Take the completed Bad Dreams Cruller to the group at Prism Tower and give it to Hoopa to open the Darkrai route.
How to check the recipe before confirming
On the ingredient-selection screen, inspect the indicators for Sweet, Spicy, Sour, Bitter, and Fresh. The Cruller is ready only when all five show completion marks. The displayed totals do not need to be exactly 310, 100, 310, 40, and 40; exceeding a requirement is allowed.

Pay particular attention to Bitter and Fresh. The larger Hyper Tanga and Hyper Kasib contributions handle most of the Sweet and Sour requirements, while the final ingredients provide the points needed to finish the less abundant flavors.
An alternative recipe
You can also replace the Hyper Yache Berry with a Hyper Kebia Berry:

Look for Hyper Berries in Hyperspace Lumiose. They can appear in smaller floating Poké Balls, and a large golden Poké Ball appears after you complete all three research tasks during a Hyperspace visit. Those tasks can involve catching specific Pokémon, catching Pokémon undetected, breaking floating Poké Balls, or collecting sparkling items.

After starting the Mega Dimension story, you can also buy Berries from the clerk at Nouveau Café’s Truck No. 3. In version 2.0.1 and later, the game supports buying multiple Berries at once. Nintendo’s update information lists this change in version 2.0.1.
The latest version listed in the supplied update history is Ver. 2.0.2, released March 18, 2026, with general fixes.

Why the Cruller option may be missing
You chose the normal donut option
Returning to Ansha and selecting “I’d like to make a donut.” starts the regular donut-making flow. Speak to her again and choose “I’d like to try that Cruller recipe.” instead.
The Bad Dreams Cruller objective is not active
The special dialogue is tied to Survey No. 6 progression and the Épice Noire ingredient. Continue the mission until Corbeau gives you both the objective and the ingredient.
You can use only three Berries
The early donut system permits only three ingredients. The recommended recipes require eight, so continue the DLC until your donut capacity has expanded. Current donut capacity information is listed in Serebii’s Ansha’s Donuts guide.
One flavor is short
Even a one-point shortfall prevents the recipe from counting. Recheck all five completion marks before confirming, especially Bitter and Fresh. If you use a different Berry combination, compare its totals with the five minimums rather than trying to copy exact displayed numbers.
What to do after making it
Once Ansha finishes the Bad Dreams Cruller, take it to the group at Prism Tower. Give it to Hoopa to proceed with the Darkrai route. Making the donut alone does not complete this step; you must deliver it at Prism Tower.
