For testing an experience you create, open Roblox Studio and use Server & Clients. This launches a simulated server and multiple test clients; Roblox documents up to eight clients. If you mean playing a live Roblox game on several accounts at once, Roblox said in a 2025 announcement that it does not officially support running multiple player clients simultaneously. Studio testing, switching accounts, and running multiple live sessions are different things.
This guidance reflects Roblox’s official documentation and statements checked on October 8, 2026. App details and policies can change, so treat older tutorials and third-party launchers cautiously.
Choose the method that matches what you want to do

How to test with multiple clients in Roblox Studio
Studio’s Server & Clients mode starts a simulated server alongside the selected number of test clients. That makes it useful for checking how an experience behaves for more than one player, without creating multiple live game sessions.
- Open your experience in Roblox Studio.
- In the testing controls, select Server & Clients.
- Choose the number of test clients. Roblox documents a maximum of eight and says one or two are usually sufficient.
- Press Play or F7 to start the simulation.
- When you are finished, select End Session to close the simulated clients and server.
Roblox experiences use a client-server model: the server is authoritative over game state and keeps connected clients synchronized. Seeing the experience from multiple test clients can therefore help a creator check what different players see and how their actions interact. Roblox explains the model in its client-server runtime documentation.

The eight-client maximum applies to this Studio simulation only. It is not a limit or allowance for live player clients.
Can you run multiple live Roblox accounts at once?
Roblox’s 2025 Developer Forum announcement says: “While we do not officially support running multiple player clients simultaneously, we noted your feedback around the value in running multiple clients for testing and development, and we will investigate providing an officially-supported solution.” That is Roblox’s stated position in that announcement; it does not establish that a later supported solution is available.

The announcement discusses enforcement against modified clients and distinguishes methods that do not modify the client binary. That distinction is not an endorsement of third-party launchers or account-management software. Roblox separately says third-party software is not officially supported. The available official guidance does not establish a supported method for opening multiple live player sessions, so this article does not provide steps for bypassing client limits, changing client files, or using third-party launchers.
Why old tutorials may no longer be reliable
A tutorial can describe a workaround without showing that Roblox supports it or that it still works with the current app. Roblox’s announcement is specifically about its position on simultaneous player clients and modified-client enforcement. For the applicable rules, consult Roblox’s current Terms of Use rather than assuming a community workaround is permitted.

How to switch accounts without keeping sessions open
If your goal is simply to access a different account, use Roblox’s web Account Switcher rather than treating it as a way to keep multiple games running. Roblox Support says it is available to users aged 13 or older whose accounts do not have parent privileges. From the Home page, open the gear menu and choose Switch Account. The feature can save up to five accounts; Roblox says the account list is private and stored on that device.
What Windows app should you use?
Roblox Support identifies the newer Microsoft Store app as Roblox – Windows, with a blue icon, and says it replaces the older app named Roblox. After installing and logging into the newer app, the old app will eventually stop working. The app change is not a documented way to run a second live game client. The official sources describe Studio simulation and account switching, but do not establish app-version pairing as supported simultaneous play.

No physical product is required for the documented workflows: Studio testing and the web Account Switcher are software features. Roblox’s cited instructions do not specify a particular PC configuration or peripheral as necessary. A more capable computer may help only if your current machine is resource-constrained; these sources do not establish a required specification.
