Nerdschalk’s September 11, 2025 guide attributes the phrase “Attack to pet” to Matthew Griffin and says light strikes count as pets. The guides describe two musical interactions, separate from the attack-based “petting”:
- Ring the bells overhead: both guides report that this can make the Bell Beast sing.
- Play the Needolin: the guides also describe a musical response to playing the instrument; Nerdschalk says this route requires having the Needolin.

How this relates to progression
Nerdschalk’s guide says Silkspear is needed to free the bound Beast, and that defeating it unlocks Bellway fast travel and a Silk Heart. Those are that guide’s account of encounter progression; they are not independently confirmed here by official documentation.
