To play Content Warning with more than four people, use a larger-lobby multiplayer mod such as Virality. Every player needs the same mod installed and active. Virality’s documentation describes configurable lobby sizes and optional late joining, but does not state a maximum player cap.
What you need before you start
- Virality installed by every player: Its author says the mod is required for all players to work properly.
- BepInEx LTS 5.4.22 or 5.4.21: These are the versions listed as requirements in Virality’s Thunderstore package listing and author documentation.
- Matching game and platform compatibility: Check the current instructions for the exact mod and the game version each person is running before forming the lobby.
How to set up a larger Content Warning lobby
- Choose a larger-lobby mod. Virality is one documented option. Check its current Thunderstore listing or author page for the latest release and instructions.
- Install BepInEx LTS 5.4.22 or 5.4.21. Follow the installation instructions for the version and platform you use.
- Install the same Virality version for everyone. The mod author says all players need it installed for proper operation. On Windows, the Thunderstore listing offers Thunderstore Mod Manager as an optional way to install and manage mods.
- Configure the lobby size. Use the selected mod’s current configuration instructions. Virality describes the lobby size as configurable, but its reviewed documentation does not give a maximum or detailed configuration steps; don’t assume a particular cap.
- Have the host create a room and invite the group. Make sure everyone launches the game with the mod active before joining.
What to know about lobby size and late joining
Virality documents configurable larger lobbies and optional late joining. Its current documentation reviewed here does not establish a maximum number of players, so check the mod’s configuration and release notes rather than relying on a cap quoted elsewhere. The Thunderstore listing also says only four players need to sleep to progress the day; this does not mean the lobby itself is limited to four.

Playing across platforms
Do not assume a larger-lobby mod works the same way across every platform. Verify platform support and joining instructions for your chosen package before inviting the group. For example, a separate Virality Crossplay package listing says Xbox players cannot install mods and describes slot-related constraints. Those package-specific details should not be treated as Virality’s general instructions.

Choosing a larger-lobby mod
Before you commit to a mod, check its current documentation for these points:

- The supported player cap and how to configure it.
- Compatibility with the group’s game version and platforms.
- Whether players can join after the session starts.
For Virality, the documentation confirms all-player installation, a configurable lobby size, and optional late joining; it does not state the cap in the materials linked above.
