You cannot install the modern God of War games as official native Android APKs. Sony’s current listings place God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök on PlayStation and PC, not Android. You can still play them on an Android phone or tablet by streaming from a PS4 or PS5 with PS Remote Play, or from a capable gaming PC with Steam Link.
Do not download files advertised as “God of War Mobile APK,” “Ragnarök APK + OBB,” or “God of War 3 Android.” They are not evidence of an official mobile release and may be incomplete, pirated, or unsafe.

Method 1: Play God of War on Android with PS Remote Play
Use this method if you own a PS4 or PS5 and have the game installed on it. The Android device displays a stream from the console; the game does not get copied to the phone.
What you need
- A PS4 or PS5 with the game installed.
- The PlayStation Network account used on the console.
- An Android phone or tablet running Android 9 or later for on-screen controls.
- A broadband connection of at least 5 Mbps. Sony recommends 15 Mbps or higher for a better experience.
- A compatible controller, preferably a DualSense, DUALSHOCK 4, or suitable USB-C/Bluetooth controller.
Remote Play performance depends on the connection between the phone and router, the console and router, and the router and internet when you play away from home. Sony’s current requirements and compatibility details are on the PS Remote Play page.

Enable Remote Play on PS5
- Open Settings.
- Select System, then Remote Play.
- Turn on Enable Remote Play.
- To wake the console remotely, open Settings → System → Power Saving → Features Available in Rest Mode.
- Enable Stay Connected to the Internet and Enable Turning on PS5 from Network.
Enable Remote Play on PS4
- Open Settings → Remote Play Connection Settings.
- Turn on Enable Remote Play.
- Open Settings → Account Management and select Activate as Your Primary PS4 if available.
- Open Power Save Settings → Set Features Available in Rest Mode.
- Enable internet connectivity and network wake-up.
Menu names can vary slightly with the console’s system software version.
Install and pair the Android app
- Open Google Play and search for PS Remote Play.
- Confirm that the publisher is Sony Interactive Entertainment, then install the official app.
- Sign in with the same PlayStation Network account used on the console.
- Choose PS5 or PS4 when prompted.
- Allow the app to search for the console and select it.
- Once connected, launch God of War from the console interface.
Connect a controller
On-screen controls are supported on Android 9 or later, but a physical controller is strongly preferable for an action game like God of War. Android 10 or later supports DUALSHOCK 4 Bluetooth connections, while DualSense support is identified for Android 12 or later, subject to device compatibility. Method 2: Play the PC version with Steam Link
Choose Steam Link if you own the PC version and have a gaming computer capable of running it. The PC renders the game and streams the video to Android; Steam Link does not make the phone run the PC game.
What you need
- A Windows PC that meets the game’s system requirements.
- A purchased and installed Steam copy of God of War (2018) or God of War Ragnarök.
- Steam installed and signed in on the PC.
- The official Steam Link Android app.
- A compatible controller.
- A reliable network. The easiest setup places the phone and PC on the same home network.
The Steam listing for God of War lists a 70 GB storage requirement. The Ragnarök listing specifies Windows 10 20H1 or later, 8 GB RAM, a GTX 1060 6 GB/RX 5500 XT 8 GB/Intel Arc A750-class minimum GPU, and 190 GB of available storage. Those requirements apply to the PC, not the Android phone.

Set up Steam Link
- Install the game through Steam and confirm that it launches correctly on the PC.
- Leave Steam open and signed in.
- Install Steam Link from its official listing on the Android device.
- Open Steam Link and allow it to scan for computers running Steam.
- Select the PC.
- Enter the pairing PIN shown on Android into Steam on the PC.
- Complete the network test.
- Connect a controller and select Start Playing.
- Open the Steam Library and launch the game.
God of War launched on Steam on January 14, 2022, and God of War Ragnarök launched on Steam on September 19, 2024. The U.S. Steam prices checked on August 18, 2026 were $49.99 and $59.99 respectively, but prices vary by country and change during sales.

Troubleshooting
Remote Play cannot find the console
- Confirm that the phone and console are online and that Remote Play is enabled.
- Check that both devices use the correct PlayStation Network account.
- Make sure the console is powered on or correctly configured for Rest Mode.
- Try pairing on the same home network before attempting remote access.
- Check whether the router isolates wireless clients.
- Update the official app and console software.
- Make sure another user is not using the console in a way that blocks the connection.
The stream is blurry or lagging
- Move closer to the router and use 5 GHz Wi-Fi where practical.
- Connect the console to the router by Ethernet.
- Stop other high-bandwidth activity.
- Reduce Remote Play video-quality or frame-rate settings.
- Test on your home network before using mobile data.
- Remember that mobile-data play consumes your allowance and depends on carrier conditions.
Steam Link connects, but the game will not run
- Launch the game directly on the PC first.
- Confirm that the game is installed, not merely owned.
- Check the PC’s GPU, RAM, Windows and storage requirements.
- Update the GPU driver and Steam client.
- Confirm that Steam Input detects the controller.
- Prevent the PC from sleeping and check firewall permissions.
Can an Android emulator run God of War?
Emulation results vary substantially by chipset, emulator, game version and graphics driver. Older PSP entries such as Chains of Olympus or Ghost of Sparta may be discussed in an emulation context, but emulation does not make a commercial game legally free. Use only game files and firmware you are legally entitled to use under applicable law and platform terms.
Do not download pirated ISOs, BIOS files, compressed ROM packages or preconfigured emulator bundles. PS3 emulation of God of War III is not a dependable installation method for ordinary Android users. Official remote play or PC streaming is the safer, clearer recommendation.

The safe Android source for Remote Play is its official Google Play listing. Buy PC versions through the official Steam or Epic Games Store listings. A companion or promotional app such as the former God of War: Mímir’s Vision is not the full playable console game.
Bottom line
For a PS4 or PS5 owner, install PS Remote Play and stream the game to Android. For a PC owner, install Steam Link and stream the installed PC version. There is no official native Android installation for the modern God of War games identified in Sony’s current listings, so APK mirrors are not a legitimate shortcut.
