Run an Exiled Lands server, then use Conan Exiles’ in-game travel system to reach Siptah. Separate Siptah servers belong to the legacy setup. What changed in Enhanced
Funcom merged the Isle of Siptah into the Exiled Lands server architecture. Its current guidance says separate servers are no longer necessary. A new server should therefore use the normal Exiled Lands configuration; players reach Siptah through the game’s travel system rather than by selecting a standalone Siptah map at startup.

Those instructions describe the pre-Enhanced dedicated-server model. They remain useful only when you are deliberately maintaining that older branch or documenting an existing legacy installation.
If you are starting a new server
- Install the Conan Exiles Dedicated Server.
- Configure it as an Exiled Lands server.
- Open the normal Conan Exiles network ports.
- Join the server, then use the in-game travel feature to reach Siptah.
If you already operate a standalone Siptah server
Funcom says existing Isle of Siptah dedicated-server players must move to Exiled Lands servers. Do not assume that copying the old world into the new branch will preserve your settlements. The UE5 migration changed world coordinates, so bases may no longer exist at the correct locations.

Before changing the server, dismantle bases you want to keep and place the resulting materials and important items in followers’ inventories. Also make an offline copy of the entire save directory. Treat the old save as an archive until you have confirmed that the new server loads correctly.
How to host the current Enhanced version yourself
1. Install the dedicated server
On Steam, open the Tools section of your library and install Conan Exiles Dedicated Server. If you administer the machine without the Steam client, SteamCMD can install the server with app ID 443030.

The historical Funcom guide lists 35 GB of disk space for its 10-, 35- and 70-player planning tiers, but that 2017 figure is not a current Enhanced benchmark. Leave additional capacity for updates, backups and expanding save files.
2. Configure the server files
The Windows dedicated-server configuration is under:
ConanSandboxSavedConfigWindowsServerUse Engine.ini for engine and networking settings. Use ServerSettings.ini for gameplay settings, including the administrator password. Set an AdminPassword before exposing the server to the internet, and use a password that is different from the player password.
Because Enhanced uses the Exiled Lands server architecture, do not add the legacy Siptah map override to a new Enhanced server. Let the server start on its normal map and travel to Siptah from inside the game.

3. Start the server
Launch the supplied StartServer.bat or run ConanSandboxServer.exe directly. The process must remain running for players to connect. Keep the console visible during initial setup so you can see startup errors, port-binding failures and mod-loading messages.
4. Allow the required ports
Funcom’s dedicated-server documentation identifies these ports and protocols:

The same guide states that a default server listens on UDP ports 27015 and 7777. If players can connect by local address but not from outside your network, check both the operating-system firewall and the router’s port-forwarding rules. Forward each required port to the machine’s fixed local IP address, not to an address that changes through DHCP.
5. Connect and travel to Siptah
- Start the dedicated server and wait until startup has completed.
- Join the server using its LAN address or public address.
- Confirm that the Exiled Lands world loads normally.
- Use Conan Exiles’ travel system to move to the Isle of Siptah.
If the server opens on Exiled Lands, that is expected on Enhanced. An Exiled Lands startup screen is not evidence that Siptah is missing; Siptah is now reached after joining the server.
Legacy: running a standalone Isle of Siptah map
The following procedure applies to the older dedicated-server model. It is not the recommended architecture for a new Enhanced installation.
Set the map in Engine.ini
Open:
ConanSandboxSavedConfigWindowsServerEngine.iniAdd this section and value:
[/Script/EngineSettings.GameMapsSettings]
ServerDefaultMap=/Game/DLC_EXT/DLC_Siptah/Maps/DLC_Isle_of_SiptahFuncom’s manual identifies the INI method as the preferred way to select the map. A command-line map path is documented as an alternative, but do not combine conflicting startup methods while troubleshooting; establish one known-good configuration first.

Set administration and server options
Set AdminPassword in ServerSettings.ini. Place the server name, player password and other networking values in the configuration files described by the dedicated-server guide. Save the files while the server is stopped, then restart it so the settings are read from a clean launch.
Launch the legacy server
Run StartServer.bat or ConanSandboxServer.exe. Allow the legacy server through the firewall and forward the same documented game, query, browser-pinger and RCON ports listed above. A server that is visible locally but absent from the browser usually has a blocked query or pinger port rather than an incorrect map path.
Back up the legacy saves
Funcom’s legacy manual distinguishes the database files by map: Game.db is associated with Exiled Lands and DLC_Siptah.db with Isle of Siptah. They are stored in the server’s save area under the ConanSandbox installation. Make a copy while the server is shut down, and label each backup with the date, branch and map.
The manual also refers to map-specific upgrade files. Keep those files with the matching database backup; do not overwrite a working save with a file from another map or branch.
Where is DLC_Siptah.db?
On a legacy Windows dedicated-server installation, look in the ConanSandbox save directory for DLC_Siptah.db. The exact parent path depends on where you installed the server, but the file belongs with the server’s saved data rather than beside the executable itself.
If you cannot find it:
- Stop the server before searching or copying files.
- Search the dedicated-server installation for the exact filename, including the extension.
- Confirm that you are examining the server installation, not a client-only Conan Exiles folder.
- Check whether the server has ever successfully started the legacy Siptah map; a new Enhanced server may not create a standalone Siptah database.
Do not rename Game.db to DLC_Siptah.db or substitute one map’s database for another. The files represent different worlds and should be backed up independently.

Hardware planning and player capacity
Funcom published the following planning tiers in 2017:

These figures are useful as historical reference points, not tested requirements for Enhanced. Actual performance depends on concurrent players, building density, creature activity, mods, background processes, storage speed and the operating system. Monitor CPU time, memory use and save duration while your real player count grows instead of treating the old tiers as guarantees.
Self-hosting or managed hosting?
Self-hosting is best when you want direct control and already have a stable machine and network. A managed service trades some low-level control for a web panel, automated restarts and simpler public connectivity.

Typical managed-panel workflow
One documented managed-host workflow uses this sequence: My Servers → select the server → Basic Settings → Map → Isle of Siptah → restart. That workflow belongs to the provider’s older standalone-map controls, so confirm that the service supports the current Enhanced travel model before changing the map. The provider also warns that some mods may not be compatible with the DLC.
For any commercial host, verify current Enhanced support, save-access policy, backup retention, mod handling, restart controls and cancellation terms. A map selector alone does not prove that the service is running the branch you intend to use.

The server starts on Exiled Lands and I expected Siptah
On Enhanced, this is normal. Join the Exiled Lands server and use the in-game travel system. Only a legacy server that is intentionally configured with the Siptah ServerDefaultMap should start directly on the standalone Siptah map.

Players cannot see the server in the browser
Check that UDP 7777, UDP 7778 and UDP 27015 are allowed through the host firewall and forwarded by the router. Confirm that the server process is listening on the expected ports and that the router forwards to the host’s current local IP. Test a direct connection from outside the LAN if the game supports it; a local test cannot validate public forwarding.

Players connect locally but not over the internet
This pattern points to NAT, port forwarding, firewall policy or an internet service that blocks inbound traffic. Reserve a local address for the server, forward the documented ports to that address, and check both IPv4 firewall rules and the public address being shared with players.
RCON does not work
RCON uses TCP 25575 according to Funcom’s guide. Confirm that the RCON setting and password are enabled, that TCP 25575 is allowed through the firewall, and that you are connecting to the correct public address. Do not expose RCON with an easily guessed password.
The map override has no effect
Stop the server and verify the file path, section header and map value exactly. Make sure you edited the server’s WindowsServer configuration rather than a client configuration. If you are on Enhanced, remove the legacy override and use the Exiled Lands startup plus in-game travel instead.
A mod prevents startup or travel
Disable recently added mods, start the server with a known-good set, and add changes back one at a time. Managed providers may have their own mod-install order or compatibility restrictions. Keep a clean backup before changing the load order, particularly when switching branches or maps.
My old base is missing after migration
That can happen during the UE5 coordinate change. The supported precaution is to dismantle the base before migration and store wanted materials and items in followers’ inventories. Restore only after confirming which objects survived; do not overwrite your archived save while investigating.

- Choose managed hosting if you prefer a control panel, provider-managed connectivity and easy restarts, and you have confirmed current Enhanced support and mod compatibility.
- Use the legacy Siptah procedure only when you are intentionally maintaining the pre-Enhanced branch or an existing standalone installation.
- Back up before every map, branch or major mod change. Keep dated copies outside the live save directory.
- Plan for travel, not map switching, on Enhanced. The server starts as Exiled Lands and Siptah is reached in-game.
