Mystical Missile: contribute healing and pressure
Use Mystical Missile to support teammates while staying involved in the fight. The official balance entry dated September 8, 2026, increased its healing amount from 10 to 15. An earlier official update, dated May 15, 2026, raised the healing ratio for illusion-fired Mystical Missiles from 90% to 100% and lowered their damage ratio from 90% to 80%. Together, those changes point toward making clone missiles more useful for support than for damage; the figures describe those patch changes, not a guarantee that no later tuning has occurred. Regeneration Domain: wait for consequential pressure
Regeneration Domain is a defensive tool. A Season 9.5 community guide recommends using it when pressure matters—for example, when enemies dive the Strategists or burst the frontline—instead of spending it on minor chip damage. That is tactical advice, not an official rule: use your judgment if an immediate cast could prevent a teammate from being eliminated.
Doppelgängers: prepare useful positions
Place clones where they can contribute without making them easy to remove together. A community guide recommends using different angles or elevations so one enemy attack or area effect is less likely to catch every illusion. Whenever possible, leave a clone in a useful position for the team and keep another option available for repositioning or escape. These are practical habits, not guaranteed optimal placements; the right setup depends on the map and fight.

Deception and Devious Exchange: plan the exit early
Deception provides stealth, while Devious Exchange lets Loki reposition to a prepared clone. Do not wait until a dive has already cornered you to think about where to go. Before the fight turns dangerous, keep a plausible destination available. If an enemy attacks, judge whether your teammates can help repel the diver or whether leaving is the safer choice.
The September 8, 2026 official balance entry increased Deception’s continuous self-healing during stealth from 20 per second to 30 per second. That gives Loki more self-healing while hidden under the stated patch change, but it does not make staying in a bad position risk-free. The same entry changed the Loki–Angela Team-Up interaction: when that Team-Up is selected, the maximum damage Loki’s illusions can take was reduced from 250 to 150. Team-Up conditions matter, so do not apply that figure to every match.

A practical plan for a fight
- Before contact: Position clones at useful, separated angles or elevations. Keep one able to contribute to the team or serve as a prepared destination for Devious Exchange.
- As the fight starts: Use Mystical Missile to heal and apply pressure. Prioritize helping teammates rather than treating clone damage as the main purpose of the ability.
- When danger spikes: Use Regeneration Domain for a consequential burst, dangerous dive, or frontline emergency when the timing allows. Adapt to the fight rather than holding it so long that it never helps.
- If you are targeted: Decide quickly whether your team can turn on the attacker. If not, use Deception and reposition to a prepared clone rather than improvising an escape under pressure.
- When God of Mischief is ready: Identify what the team needs now—sustain, damage, utility, or a fight-ending ultimate—then choose a copy that can provide it.
How to get more from God of Mischief
God of Mischief lets Loki shapeshift into a targeted ally or enemy and use that hero’s abilities, except Team-Up abilities, according to the official hero page. The transformation is most useful when you know what the copied kit can do and have a clear purpose for using it. Consider ordinary abilities as well as the ultimate: if the team needs immediate utility or sustain, an ultimate is not automatically the best first action.
Learn the kits of heroes you are likely to copy so you can spend the transformation time acting, not trying to work out the controls or abilities. The ultimate’s energy cost was raised from 4,300 to 4,500 in the May 15, 2026 official balance update; that is a dated change, so check current in-game values rather than assuming the number has not changed again.

How to judge conflicting Loki advice
When two guides recommend different timings or ability priorities, check their dates and patch versions first. Then check whether the advice assumes a particular mode or Team-Up. Official hero descriptions and balance posts establish what abilities do and what changed; community guides offer tactical preferences that may depend on a player’s situation. Loki’s illusion ratios, ultimate energy cost, healing, and stealth self-healing have all been subject to balance changes, so older guides may describe values that no longer apply.
The latest located Loki-specific official balance entry is the Version 20260911 Balance Post, dated September 8, 2026. The official Season 9.5 patch notes say that update began August 7, 2026 UTC. These dates identify the version context for the changes discussed here; a later patch may supersede them.
