Which platforms can play together?
The official Minecraft Dungeons II FAQ lists Windows, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 as supported platforms, and confirms cross-play. Platform availability can change, so check the current FAQ if you are planning a group around a particular system.

Couch co-op
Players can play together locally on one console or PC. The official FAQ does not specify the exact local setup steps or supported input devices, so follow the prompts displayed in the game.
Mixed co-op
Mixed co-op combines local players on one console or PC with additional players joining online. For example, two people on one device can play alongside friends connecting from other supported platforms, as long as the total group stays within the four-player limit.

In an official Xbox interview, design director Laura de Llorens also said matchmaking is available and that a session adjusts as players join or leave. The interview does not provide the exact matchmaking or invitation controls.
Check online subscription requirements
Minecraft’s official notice says online co-op on consoles requires a subscription for that platform. Xbox’s store page specifies Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate for Xbox console online multiplayer. The sources cited here do not establish the current subscription requirements for PlayStation or Nintendo, so check the relevant platform’s current rules before your session.
