These modes serve different purposes: Campaign is the story experience, Operations and Siege are PvE, and Eternal War is PvP. The publisher’s May 2024 mode overview describes Campaign, Operations, and Eternal War; its May 28, 2025 Siege update gives the Siege details.

How do I play Space Marine 2 with friends?
Pick the mode that fits your party, then use the game’s friend or party features to invite or join one another. Campaign allows up to two friends alongside you; Operations and Siege are designed for three players. The available official guidance does not establish a verified, current sequence of platform-specific menu commands, so the precise invite steps may differ by platform and game version. Check the in-game prompts rather than relying on button instructions from an older guide.
Can PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox players play together?
Crossplay is supported across Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. That applies to the supported platforms generally, but Eternal War has a specific opt-in requirement for cross-platform PvP.

How do I turn on crossplay for Eternal War?
- From the title screen, open Settings.
- Find the crossplay option for PvP and opt in before organizing a cross-platform Eternal War group.
Focus Entertainment added opt-in PC-and-console PvP crossplay in Patch 6.0 on February 6, 2025. The publisher’s launch-era FAQ described a split between PC and console PvP pools; that description was superseded by the later patch. The FAQ also says crossplay can be disabled. Check the current setting when coordinating a mixed-platform group, since both players’ settings can affect whether they can play together.
Can I play Operations solo?
Yes. Focus Entertainment’s FAQ says, “Yes, you can play solo with bots as partners.” Siege also supports bots: the publisher says a player can bring friends or use two bots. This lets you enter those PvE modes without assembling a full human party.

Will my multiplayer progress save?
Campaign progression saves while offline. For Operations, the publisher says you need to be online to ensure PvE progress is saved; offline PvE progress will not carry over to your next session. Stay connected while playing Operations if you want its earned progress to persist. Focus Entertainment’s FAQ identifies PROS as the cross-platform save service.

What else should I know before starting?
- Friendly fire: The publisher lists no friendly fire for Campaign, Operations, or Eternal War.
- Roadmap timing: Focus Entertainment’s September 24, 2026 update describes Patch 15 content and a Year 3 roadmap. It announced Apothecary for Patch 17 in Q1 2027; that is a plan, not a guarantee that the class is currently playable.
- Matchmaking expectations: An October 5, 2026 Q&A recap reports developer discussion of PvP matchmaking concerns and planned improvements, but does not provide measured wait times or region-specific service data.
